Weight sensing of beehives with IoT connectivity
Havránek, Daniel ; Frýza, Tomáš (referee) ; Kufa, Jan (advisor)
The purpose of this work is to make a device that can measure some beehive parameters, that can inform you about the conditions in a beehive. These parameters are beehive weight, inner and ambient temperature, inner and ambient humidity and air pressure. The device allows to send the measured data wirelessly through the 2G network and interpret the results in appropriate way. Low power consumption is desirable due to working without the reach of the distribution network.
Multifunction speaker with wireless connectivity
Indoor positioning system using UWB signals
Sadleková, Simona ; Kufa, Jan (referee) ; Rozum, Stanislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the indoor object localization by using Ultra Wide Band signals (UWB). Physical layer for determination of the distances, which are needed for localization, is built from DW 1000 integrated chips in demonstration system TREK1000. The thesis describes the library for communication with TREK1000 system in C# language, to enable intuitive aplication of this system in various projects based on .NET framework. Subsequently, the thesis deals with the trilateration implemented in C# language, which brings the new method compared to the original feature and solves the problem with finding the tag position in case the spheres are not crossed in one point, but in the area of possible appearance.
Localization module for IoT network
Eliáš, Martin ; Kufa, Jan (referee) ; Herceg, Erik (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with construction of portable GNSS locator for multiple uses. This locator will be sending measured data via LoRaWAN IoT network. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a device with low current consumption and with highest possible operating time on a battery. The device consists of environmental sensors.
Laboratory workplace for virtual reality
Budáč, Adam ; Polák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kufa, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is about creation of laboratory workplace for virtual reality. In theoretical part, it’s analysis of various types of devices for use in VR, description of operation principle of these devices used in VR, analysis of modern coding algorithms suitable for use in VR, suitable use of these codecs for 2D, 3D a 360° multimedia content, options of obtaining and playback of this content, comparing the difference against classical displaying methods and quality measurement of this content using objective metrics at different qualities and compressions. In experimental part, there’s described database creation of video content, coding these video sequencies using objective metrics, creation of laboratory workplace for use with VR, creation and sample elaboration of laboratory task dedicated to virtual reality.
Multimedia quality assessment for headset with virtual reality
Majnuš, Robert ; Polák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kufa, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with creating multimedia content for virtual reality and designing a subjective test to evaluate these sequences. In the introductory theoretical part there is information about virtual and augmented reality and several types of virtual reality glasses that are available on the market today. The second chapter focuses on methods of quality measurement and evaluation. These are subjective and objective evaluation metrics. The following describes the different types of codecs that are found in most of the sequences on the Internet portals. Then there is a chapter on creating content for virtual reality. Especially panoramic, 3D and 360 ° videos and photos. In the practical part of this semester work is described by me the procedure of editing sequences for individual codecs and design and use of subjective method including evaluation.
Quality Of Service In Digital Video Broadcasting In Czech Republic
Kufa, Jan
The aim of this paper is to explore the quality of services in Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB). This work is focused on long-term measurement of individual DVB standards. Program ČT 24 is selected for more detailed analysis. There is monitored bitrate and video quality on this program. Measurement is made on the DVB-T/S/S2 standards. The study of quality in DVB systems, which are available in the Czech Republic until 1. March 2017, was the motivation for this research. After this date broadcasting will start in DVB-T2.
Compact Bluetooth multimetr
Kolář, Ondřej ; Kufa, Jan (referee) ; Rozum, Stanislav (advisor)
The first part of bachelor's thesis Compact Bluetooth multimeter discusses Bluetooth Low Energy technology. It describes individual layers and protocols of its communication chain. There are also described some of the electronic ciruits and methods used for measuring in electronics. The second part of the bachelor's thesis describes practical design and implementation procedures of the compact multimeter which communicates with a smartphone application via Bluetooth Low Energy.
Solar charger with balancing circuit for 4 cell battery pack working in an IoT network
Šlígl, Jan ; Kufa, Jan (referee) ; Herceg, Erik (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design of a circuit for charging control of the four battery cells using solar energy. Passive balancing is applied to the separate cells. The measured cell voltage should then be sent via the LoRa network. The proposal mainly considers low energy consumption, compactness and independence. The appropriate function is then verified using MATLAB Simulink simulations and subsequently tested on the STM32 development kit. The result will be a finished printed circuit board design and simulation of important parts of the device.
Automated measuring system for irrigating plants with IoT connectivity
Lahoda, Vladimír ; Polák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kufa, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with IoT networks and considers their use as part of embedded devices. The purpose of this device is to control the flower bed or garden based by data from sensors monitoring the environment. The device not only controls the irrigation operation itself, but also sends all traffic data over the IoT LoRa network. Thus, the device also functions as a weather station, as all data are sent to a second device that acts as a receiver. This receiver displays the data and also sends them to the Internet, where the data are publicly available. The module for sending and measuring data is mounted on its own PCB and is covered in a waterproof cover, so they can be operated outdoors. There is an integrated battery, which is a backup of savings in case of power failure. The battery is designed to back up power for 25 days.
