New Prague Gate in Znojmo – One House, Two squares New building of „CAFÉ BRÁNA“ is ment to be a substitution of a medieval town wall with an watchtower, which was a part of a northen barbican gate. The house will create an missing ending of a small square at the same time. The mass of building is rather sculptural. The position on the edge of the old town and new (lets call it new, because no surrounding building can be named „modern“ or quality) build-up area designates a special look of the building, becauce it has no backside. Two main facades (southern, northen) are created in different style to reflect different situations. An object of Café forms, with a lately designed urban structure two squrares, which lay-out is a part of this work.

Polyfunction house Křenová

The multifunctional house is a part of the row of buildings lining the Krenova street. This house closes the whole line of buildings, so all the houses together create a functional unit. This multifunctional building is devided into three functional parts – a museum, an administrative part and flats. The centre of the building is used as a relaxing area – the atrium. The principle of the design is based on a simple line of block materials connecting to each other. In the front of the house, which is facing the Krenova street, will be situated the museum. The front facade is made of black and white tiles and decorated by a glass ashlar. A second glass ashlar is situated on the east side of the building – the administrative part. This east side will be visible from the newly planned town cirquit. The area in between this cirquit and the multifunctional house will be made into park and will use as a place for relaxation. Created work is a residential complex of serial houses, atrium houses, terraced houses, single standing houses and coffe house in Brno - Komín. In close distance to this area we can find new serial houses, old single standing houses and recreational cottages of gardening colony. Created houses fulfill the area. Residental complex is answering to the question of utilization gardening colony for creating new family houses and coffe house. Development of area is reasonable, without negativ aftermath for local infrastructure.

Residential Complex in Brno - Komín

With regard to the surrounding buildings there are designed two-storey houses in rows, connected by embedded terraces. Each floor is used as a residential unit. The orientation of the parcel is designed so the home has an interesting view, while allowing the use of passive energy from the sun. Roofs of the houses are flat with greenery that serves as insulation against noise, absorbs dust and simultaneously creates space with stunning views designed for relaxation. The purpose of the project is to create a universal space available for all stages of life, so that might not lead to its transformation. The interior of the house is designed so that one room has access to all of the others. From one room you can acces to any other room and so go through maximum two doors.

Residential Complex in Brno - Komín

Taking into consideration the slope of the terrain as well as the surrounding development, two types of residential buildings have been proposed: Komín a Komínek.They are placed in a regular structure into a given land. Sustainable development is at the core of the proposal. The residential buildings are proposed as sturctures created from multiple components. The framework is comprised of a reinforced concrete and the peripheral walls are stuffed with thermal insulating wooden panels. Air conditioned heating will be used (the air will be heated by a gas boiler). Due to the quality of the insolation, the houses are considered as low energy structures. As individual structures, each apartment has three sided orientation to cardinal direction. Some of the rooms have two sided lighting, which further increases their attractivness. The residential bulding is composed of Maisonette appartments, which together create asimilar structure. The fundamental space is intertwined with a ribbon that carries on its edges balconies, terraces or parking spaces. Each unit has a balcony, which allows the residence to relax and enjoy the surrounding landscape. The housing is proposed for a general audience (wider population). There are several types of appartments including no barrier appartments situated in the first floor as well as Maisonette appartments in the last floor.

Residential Complex in Brno - Komín

The main purpose was to find an ideal solution for the given area in Brno-Komín on the street Pastviny and to design a residential complex here. The surrounding of the parcel offers us a fairly good functional amenitie and good accessibility. The actual parcel has a descent from the eastern part of the territory, where it is an undeveloped territory with forests.There is a dense developement with residential use on the west side already. Urban design is mainly based on the idea of natural human movement and perception of space. A person likes certain order, but does not perceive the strict geometry and so we can afford to break the rowhouse and adhere to detached objects. Even though the space can be perceived as a street. Another purpose was to preserve the most natural descent of the terrain. The space is designed with three types of buildings: family house, three-storey block of flats with terraces and a four-storey apartment building. The weights building design is based on the module 6x6x3 m. This block has been gradually multiplied on every construction site and creates a natural substance migration.

Residential Complex in Brno - Komín

The main idea of the project was to create a comfortable residential complex, in which there is no exact border between the nature and the city. Whole concept is based on creating a "green city", where people will feel comfortable not only to live, but to relax and spend their free time, with no urge to escape from modern concrete jungles. 5 houses, that are situated on a land, have east-west orientation, all apartments have either east, west or south orientation. The are designed to suit people from different age and social groups: small and big families and seniors. In every house there is a big social room on the 5th floor, together with a big terrace- for making different activities without having to leave a building. Important part of a concept are green roofs, space on which can be used either for placing solar panels or plants.

Residential Complex on the street Grasslands in Brno - chimney . The site is located on a slope in the former colonies garden . The idea behind this proposal is to revive the atmosphere of the place, taking advantage of its more than lucrative position at the border of the city .
