Circularly polarized antenna array for ISM frequency band 24 GHz
Liyambo, Evans ; Cupal, Miroslav (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
Antenna for smart watch
Hájek, Miroslav ; Láčík, Jaroslav (referee) ; Cupal, Miroslav (advisor)
The objective of this work is a create a smart watch antenna, that will operate in two frequency bands. These are GSM (1.8 GHz) and ISM (2.4 GHz) bands. This antenna must be able to work when be placed on an elastic material that is used as a smart watch belt. Antennas options are analyzed and their suitability for given use. There is also an antenna model in CST microwave studio, where all the simulations were made. The antenna is also simulated on human hand models that have different dimensions and tissue ratios.
Antena integrated to automobile seat
Gulda, Tomáš ; Mrnka, Michal (referee) ; Cupal, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the design of the antenna integrated to automobile seat. Thesis explains the basics of RFID technology, and how RFID works. Especially explains the design of tag, which works in the UHF band. The tag was designed in the CST Microwave studio, where simulations were realized to verify basic properties of the tag such as S11 parameter and directivity. The thesis also contains simulation of the impact of automobile seat on the directivity. Here is the description of how the antenna was made on a textile substrate and here are also measured properties of the antenna.
Wideband low-profile circularly polarized antenna array
Benites Ayala, Jhony Cristian ; Cupal, Miroslav (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is focused on the study of a novel type of wideband low-profile circular array antenna with circular polarization and high gain. The aim of this thesis is to design, optimize and implement the proposed antenna for a 5.5 - 7 GHz frequency band. The thesis deals with theoretical fundamentals in order to subsequently present the concept of the antenna. Furthermore, it describes its design and implementation stages. The antenna was designed in the full-wave program CST Microwave Studio and fabricated on dielectric substrate. Both simulated and measured property results are evaluated in the conclusion.
Reconfigurabe Waveguide Divider
Cupal, Miroslav
The design and implementation of the textile integrated waveguide (TIW) switch for ISM band is presented. The traveling electromagnetic wave is controlled by conductive posts with a circular slot. PIN diodes are used for switching electromagnetic wave to two directions. The simulations results are presented as parametric analysis.
H-plane SIW Howrn Antenna for On-body Communication
Cupal, Miroslav
The substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology allows us to construct several types of low-profile antennas. One of these antennas is h-plane SIW horn antenna. However, this antenna shows constraints if thickness of the substrate is smaller than λ/10. A modified h-plane horn antenna to be used close to human body tissue is presented in this paper. Attention is paid to the decrease of the elevation angle of the main beam in E-plane. The antenna has been developed for wireless links of on body communication.
Dual-band antenna for in-car communication
Vörös, Ondrej ; Mikulášek, Tomáš (referee) ; Cupal, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the design of dual-band planar antenna on a textile substrate. The proposed antenna is tuned to the ISM band 2,4 and 5,8 GHz for application in WLAN-in-car communication. The most common types of planar microstrip antennas, their parameters, feeding methods and methods of analysis are introduced in the first part of this work. In the practical section, the design of the dual-band antenna is presented with the use of the program CST Microwave Studio. The design of two concepts of dual- band antenna made on the FR4 substrate is transformed on the 3D textile and optimised to work at desired frequency bands. After then, the thesis describes fabrication and measurement of designed dual-band antennas in the anechoic chamber and in a car.
3D textile integrated monopole
Füll, David ; Kufa, Martin (referee) ; Cupal, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of omnidirectional monopole antennas. Using the parabolic reflector and the directors, the directional characteristics of monopole antennas are modified. This directional antenna, together with the omnidirectional antenna, examines the effect of various materials, the emission characteristics and the input reflection factor, near the antennas. These antennas are made of 3D textile, measured in anechoic chamber and compared to the designed antennas. At the end of the thesis is the summary and evaluation of the result.
Implantable antennas for biomedical telemetry
Cupal, Miroslav ; Láčík, Jaroslav (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
Biomedical implanted devices permit observation and influencing patient's medical condition while maintaining maximum safety and comfort. In this thesis, we compare properties of planar antennas suitable for these devices. Planar antennas can be relatively easily adapted for placement in the environment of the human body. For the simulation of planar antennas we use CST Microwave Studio, which allows to obtain a full picture of the properties of the simulated antenna.
In-car wireless power transfer
Cupal, Miroslav ; Polívka, Milan (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
The thesis is focused on the design of antennas for wireless power transfer inside a car near the frequency of 8 GHz. In the last century, a number of scientists dealt with wireless transmission of energy with high power and long distances. Currently, attention is given to methods capable of transmitting energy with good effectively over a distance of meters for charging mobile devices, wireless sensors and other devices with low power consumption.
