The building is made of brick from (lime-sand blocks). The ceiling above the 1st floor is made of reinforced concrete, the ceiling above 2nd floor is made of pre-stressed reinforced concrete roof panels of spiroll type. The roofs are designed as a flat surcharge. The walls are double-layered, contact-insulated with fiber-cement cladding. The object is designed according to Feng Shui and as barrier-free for people with reduced mobility and orientation.
Green architecture design and infrastructure in cities
Cacková, Anna ; Gottvaldová, Jana (referee) ; Remeš, Josef (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the topic of green infrastructure and its importance in a city. The work presents ten selected problems and precautions that cities encounter in the process of planning and designing the greenery. The practical part evaluates the current state of the administration and maintenance of urban greenery in Björnson Park near the Faculty of Civil Engineering in Brno. The analysis of the current situati-on and the problem research showed that the analyzed area has certain deficiencies in the management and care of public greenery. We not only observe a lack of awareness of trees and their needs but also face insufficient knowledge of climate change, which causes cities to overheat. It is necessary to respond to these changes and use all pos-sible precautions that are available.
Barrier-free apartment building with a rehabilitation center
Okřinová, Petra ; Brzoň, Roman (referee) ; Remeš, Josef (advisor)
The thesis contains a barrier-free apartment building with a rehabilitation center in the administrative area Brno - Židenice. There are two separate buildings. The building block of flats (SO01) has two above, one underground floor and consists of a total of 11 residential units, garages and also has available for residents of social service. The building is constructed of structural system of ceramic blocks (Porotherm), except basement, which has walls and columns of reinforced concrete. The ceilings are from reinforced concrete and the roof is designed as a flat surcharge. The second object (SO02) is a single-storey and is also built from the system ceramic block with reinforced concrete ceilings and flat roof vegetation. The whole complex is insulated contact system. Both buildings are designed as a barrier-free, which is an ideal place to stay for the disabled, who can easily use the services of a rehabilitation center.

The building is designed of structural systém of ceramic blocks, except first and second floor, which has walls and columns of reinforced concrete. The ceilings are from reinforced concrete and the roof is designed as a flat surcharge. The work includes project documentation for the construction and specialization.
Mechanical durability of waterproofing membranes against elements of waterproofing membrane construction protection
Remeš, Josef ; Oláh,, Jozef (referee) ; Novotný,, Marek (referee) ; Novotný, Miloslav (advisor)
Waterproofing membranes are one of the most commonly used waterproofing insulation materials. These can be found both in assemblies of roof constructions and substructures and are a key component for waterproofing systems. During design process it is necessary to select materials, elements and accessories so that mutual compatibility, waterproof effectiveness and reliability is ensured. In order to protect the main waterproofing layer a composition is therefore completed with construction protection elements, which are meant to prevent from a mechanical damage of waterproofing membrane. Mechanical stress and damage may become evident in variety of situations, which can be caused externally not only as an inappropriate ground bashing procedure but also as a consequence of improper waterproofing construction protection. In practice there are many cases of waterproofing system failures due to stress of elements with higher mechanical durability which affect elements with lower mechanical durability. The dissertation deals with an application of dimpled membranes protected by the layer of waterproofing membranes, which may due to stress and mutual compatibility result in waterproofing system failure and waterproofing reliability decrease. The dissertation is focused on mechanical durability of waterproofing membranes made of folio and modified bitumen membrane against damage from dimple membrane depending on stress category. First, possible waterproofing membrane damage from dimple extrusion is calculated and evaluated. The next part deals with verifying by experiment based on an effect of long-term static stress and short-term dynamic stress caused by ground bashing, where a measurement of ground bashing stress is performed. Experiment interpretation and an acquired knowledge provided the dissertation with an information what combination and order of particular layers results in higher risk of waterproofing system failure and waterproofing reliability decrease

Advanced use of BIM in building design
Nováček, Michal ; Apeltauer, Tomáš (referee) ; Remeš, Josef (advisor)
This thesis deals with a Building Information Model (BIM) and its advanced use in construction practice. It focuses on the usage of BIM model in the determination of pressure drop in ventilation pipelines. An application able to calculate the pressure drop in a pipeline branch based on the geometrical parameters of the BIMs of structures was created within the work.
