An Intelligent System for Question Answering
Mičulka, Jakub ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Otrusina, Lubomír (advisor)
This work deals with problem about proccessing of natural language queries, which are asked in search engines. This work explains basic function principles of search engines, where the main focus is given to database search engines. The essential part of this article deals with system design and implementation of questionAnswering, which is used for searching information in the database of the ReResearch project. The reader is introduced to procedure of design and implementation of mentioned system and to the fundamental problems, that arose from this work. In the end, this system is evaluated with the standard metrics.
Czech-Slovak Machine Translation
Mydliar, Ján ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This Master thesis deals with machine translation from Czech to Slovak. The first chapter motivates the work, the second discusses various approaches to machine translation and the third details evaluation of the methods. Chapter 4 introduces the design and implementation of my system, paying a special attention to a new parallel corpus that has been created. Chapter 5 summarizes testing and evaluation of the developed system.
Methods of Information Extraction
Adamček, Adam ; Smrž, Pavel (referee) ; Kouřil, Jan (advisor)
The goal of information extraction is to retrieve relational data from texts written in natural human language. Applications of such obtained information is wide - from text summarization, through ontology creation up to answering questions by QA systems. This work describes design and implementation of a system working in computer cluster which transforms a dump of Wikipedia articles to a set of extracted information that is stored in distributed RDF database with a possibility to query it using created user interface.
Artificial Intelligence for Game Playing
Neřád, Václav ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This Bachelor's thesis analyzes artificial intelligence and method, which are used in artificial intelligence for problem solving and game playing especially. Chosen methods are used for bot implementation in game Ants in contest AI challenge.
Classification Framework
Koroncziová, Dominika ; Otrusina, Lubomír (referee) ; Kouřil, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this work is the design and implementation of a machine learning software, based on the RapidMiner library. The finished application integrates the most commonly used algorithms and processes implemented in RapidMiner into an easily usable program. The application contains a simple command line interface, as well as a graphic interface to simplify selection of multiple parameters. The program also provides a tool to create standalone programs, that can be used for classification with a pre-trained model. On top of the original requirements the possibility to work with textual data from Wikipedia was also implemented, providing a tool for downloading and preprocessing of the data in order to use them as training input. This text focuses on the specifics of the algorithms and classifiers used and on their features and uses, and describes the design and implementation of the system. As part of this work, several tests were run in order to validate the efficiency and functionality of the program. The test results are included at the end of the thesis.
Manager for Board Games
Kouřil, Jan ; Zbořil, František (referee) ; Rozman, Jaroslav (advisor)
The main goal of this bachelor work was to remove errors from actual programming, to implement possibility of arranging different forms of tournaments and to add support for games gomoku, checkers, chess and go. It was also necessary to programm possibility of human play for better debugging of artificial intelligences, which are playing against each other in this manager. As a minor goal i would mention implementation of standard protocol in game gomoku, which supports connection for universal artificial intelligences. From begginning I discuss theoretical solutions of given problem, board games, their rules and algorithm proposal. Next, there is a summary of implementation and its realization. In the end posible extentions of manager  are  mentioned.
Annotation Addon for Opera
Cudrák, Miloš ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Dytrych, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis describes the design and implementation of an annotation addon for the web browser Opera which is able to create and store simple unstructured annotations. It analyzes ways of creating addons for the web browser Opera and the tools and technologies needed for design, implementation, testing and debugging addons. It also deals with the problems during the design and implementation of the addon and their solutions.
Project Management Tool for Android Platform Tablets
Koudelka, Jan ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Škoda, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is dedicated to the issue of project management and its support using software tools. It is focused on analysis of existing solutions and designing a new mobile application for Android platform. It summarizes basic principles of making mobile applications for Android OS. Designed application uses some properties of cloud computing for scaling and synchronizing data easily.
Annotation Server Modules
Strecha, Juraj ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Dytrych, Jaroslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with an Annotation server module design and its implementation in the Decipher project. The purpose of the module is to suggest annotations for document that the user works with. One will find the Annotation server and the SEC Store API server description in the beginning of the thesis. A major part of the document presents a design and an implementation of the solution. Standalone part of the thesis deals with a module functionalities testing in the system environment. The communication protocol between both servers definition and description is also included in this document.
