Viskotová, Edita ; PŘÍVRATSKÁ, Jiřina (advisor) ; HAJÓSSYOVÁ, Magdaléna (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the theme of Mozart's opera The Marriage of Figaro, focusing on the role of the Countess and her contextualisation into the work of W. A. Mozart. The fundamental objective of this thesis is to analyze Mozart's work in the broader context of the composer's life story, the plot of the opera and interpretative concept of the role of Countess by three selected protagonists. A secondary aim of the thesis highlights the importance of Mozart's operas in music history. The introductory part covers the life of Mozart, followed by an overview and analysis of the formation of his operas. The main part is the analysis of The Marriage of Figaro and the Countess role in various concepts. Conclusion of the thesis confirms the hypothesis of Mozart importance for the neo-classical opera.

The aim of this study is to provide an artistic view of the song cykle by Bohuslav Martinu´s Three Chansons for the Red Seven" and the Red Seven " and the song Vítězslava Kaprálová´s "Goodbye and farewell". In my work, I summarise the analytical opinion with musical and practical attitude and provide an artistic view to these vocel settings, which often remain neglected by both, artists and musicologists. This bachelor´s thesis specializes on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, his opera Don Giovanni and especially the part of Zerlina. I would like to introdukce closely the autor himself and also this musical piece which is - in my opinion - considered " the opera of all operas". I would like to offer different points of view at performing the part of Zerlina. This part is so complex that offers sereval different options of interpretative approach and every one of them may be right. The aim of this thesis is tho show that this part does not be percepted just as a naive peasant girl, but i tis a art of unusual beauty and worthy of being written about.
Modern Opera Directing in the Mid-20th Century
Otava, Martin ; HAVLÍK, Jaromír (advisor) ; HAJÓSSYOVÁ, Magdaléna (referee)
This work is intended primarily for young opera directors and students of opera directing. It?s divided into four chapters. The first three focus on the development of theater directing in the 20th century (with a spatial emphasis on opera.) In these chapters, I introduce a theoretical view on, and trends in, the task of the director. The second half of the work, chapter 4, offers a perspective on the practice of directing with a special emphasis on the director?s collaboration with the artist. The ambition of the work is also to place the work of important Czech opera director Bohumil Hrdlička into a Czech and, after his immigration, a European context. This under appreciated artist, and important European director, has yet to receive a full treatment of his work. In my exploration, I focus on the entire, broad, subject of opera directing on both a historical and practical level. My goal was to realize the complexity of the subject, interpret it, and synthesize it from the perspective of a director in such a way as to gain the necessary perspective on the field in the context of the 20th century, so as to be able to use this knowledge not only as a director but, more importantly, as a pedagogue. A similar historical and practical handbook, which also provides a personal view on the issues at hand, has until now been unavailable to students of opera directing in the Czech Republic.

R. Wagner - Wesendonck Lieder - interpretative view
Morozová, Tamara ; HAJÓSSYOVÁ, Magdaléna (advisor) ; JONÁŠOVÁ, Jana (referee)
In the work of Richard Wagner, which is constituted almost exclusively from operatic pieces, song cycle "Wesendonck Lieder" is the greatest rarity. Nevertheless, the cycle of five songs takes honorable place in his work and is often interpreted. It is particularly interesting that the cycle stands on the beginning of Wagner's seeking of his mature musical language. We can find all the elements of his style in these songs, on a much smaller space than we used to. The purpose of this thesis is not to describe composer's life escapades or to draw up a register of his compositions. This thesis aims for explaination of the circumstances of the cycle creation and show importance of this songs for Wagner's artistic growth. The main part is devoted to my own interpretative view of cycle, which was prepared to perform on my bachelor's concert.
