Comparison of the incidence of flat feet in children in ordinary and forest kindergartens
Špačková, Petra ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Marenčáková, Jitka (referee)
Goals: The main objective of this bachelor thesis was to analyse the incidence of flat feet in children aged 4 to 5 years in kindergartens and to compare whether there is a difference between the frequency of flat feet in forest kindergartens compared to ordinary kindergartens. The result may indicate whether the kindergarten environment has an effect on the formation of the children's sole. Methods: The following were evaluated for 20 children from ordinary kindergartens and 20 children from forest kindergartens aged 4 to 5 years: plantogram, physical examination, weight, height, foot size, type of footwear - conventional/ barefoot. The plantogram was made using a podoscope from SANOMED s.r.o. and evaluated by the Chippaux-Smirak index (CSI). Statistical processing was done in MS Excel and in the statistical program Rstudio. Results: The results of the study show that children from forest kindergartens have lower CSI, ie. less flat feet (p = 0,0351). The degree of arching of the foot is usually similar on the left and right foot (p = 0,00001). There is no significant difference in the frequency of flat feet in girls and boys (p = 0,9761). No correlation was found between CSI and BMI (p = 0,421) nor between CSI and foot size (p = 0,792). Children with barefoot shoes have lower CSI values than...
Postural plagiocephaly from persistent head predilection
Krajčovičová, Michaela ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Knoppová, Tereza (referee)
The main objektive: The main objective of this bachelor thesis is to summarize information about the origin and development of plagiocephaly, its diagnosis and treatment options. It also deals with the effect of plagiocephaly on the child's psychomotor development, posture and asymmetric posture. Methodology: The selection of probands took place in the Children's Day Rehabilitation Hospital in Hradec Králové in the autumn of 2018 and in the Institute of Technical - Prosthetic Care Malík a spol. in 2019. My criteria for selecting probands were: natural vaginal delivery or Caesarean section, Apgaar score 8 - 10, age 3 - 4 months, diagnosed plagiocephaly or asymmetric positional syndrome. I observed the development of the skull shape and psychomotor development in each of them for 3 consecutive months. In the children's day hospital in Hradec Králové, I monitored the course of physiotherapeutic care, the influence of positioning and Vojta's reflex therapy on the child's development. I photographed the children (group A) during therapy and measured the head circumference, CVAI and CI indices. This research took place from September to December 2018. I worked on prosthetics in August 2019, where I started monitoring 7 probands (hereinafter referred to as group B), whose head was measured using a...
Influence of kinesiotape in infants with diastasis recti.
Sobeková, Simona ; Bartlová, Petra (advisor) ; Herbichová, Dana (referee)
The paper focuses on verifying the efficacy of kinesiotaping in infants with abdominal diastasis. Vojta's method was practiced with every infant. In a random sample, we applied kinesiotapewith facilitation technique to musculus rectus abdomnis or musculus obliquus externus abdominis. The aim of the paper was to point out kinesiotaping as a method in pediatrics and the positive effects this method brings. The diastase was measured in its largest width, which was palpably tested. One of the observed factors was the description of psychomotoric development and involvement of the abdominal wall in muscle coordination. The duration of observation for each child was three months. The number of probands was five, two were in control, and three in the tapping group. All children practiced according to Vojta's therapy, and the tapping group underwent kinesiotaping applications. The results indicate that kinesiotape had positive effects on the abdominal wall and reduced the size of diastasis quicker. For all children in the tapping group, it was not possible to palpate the diastasis during the last examinations. In contrast, the diastasis was tangible in children in the control group. All children, nontheless, have improved both in their psychomotor development and mitigated the size of diastasis. Key words:...
