Residential mobility and fulfilling the ideas of cohousing in the everyday life of inhabitants: Case study of the Klidná project
Horňáková, Marie ; Jíchová, Jana (advisor) ; Kubeš, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with cohousing; a concept of living based on common spaces and shared facilities. In the first phase, the aim is to provide a summary of the development of cohousing and other similar forms of housing in the world and also in Czechia. The second phase focuses on a concrete by cohousing inspired residential project located in the inner city of Prague. In the work it appears under the name Klidná. The second phase aims to find out what led the communication partners to choose Klidná as a new place of residence, how important role did the specific aspects based on cohousing played in the decision-making process and finally how are the ideas of this concept being fulfilled in everyday life of the inhabitants. The research is of a qualitative nature and the main method of data collection is realization of deep semi-structured interviews, which are subsequently evaluated on the basis of theoretical thematic analysis. Based on the study, none of the communication partners chose Klidná because of the concept of cohousing. They perceived the existence of common areas, small scale of the project or its spatial layout rather as a pleasant bonus. Fulfilling ideas of the concept in everyday life of the informants corresponds with the nature of the project and the context in which it was...
An alternative view on Czech banking sector's riskiness
Kubeš, Jan ; Teplý, Petr (advisor) ; Troch, Tomáš (referee)
Riskiness of Czech banking sector is subject of interest of this thesis. Since the beginning of 21st century, there is moderately growing number of banks and their overall profitability expressed in absolute values is increasing. Ratio of non-performing loans to total loans is also displaying optimistic values. Four indicators of riskiness are studied through data about Czech banks from 2008 to 2015. These indicators are: z-score, leverage ratio, RWA density and ratio of non- performing loans to total loans. Rather low correlations among these indicators are found, the highest correlation (0,670) is between leverage ratio and RWA density, on the other hand the lowest one (0,093) is between z-score and NPL ratio. In aggregate form are three of the indicators displaying stable trend to lower riskiness in 2008-2015 period, the same can be stated about NPL ratio in 2010-2015 period. Then is regression analysis employing fixed effects estimation and random effects estimation used, with the aim to identify determinants of the four indicators. Size of banks expressed in logarithm of total assets is significant in only one model with RWA density on the place of dependent variable. This significance is at 10 per cent level and corresponding coefficient is negative. In contrary, growth of assets and dummy...

Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University Department of pharmacognosy Candidate: Mgr. Jan Kubeš Supervisor: PharmDr. Lenka Tůmová, CSc. Title of Doctoral thesis: Transport mechanisms of secondary metabolites across membranes of plant cells An attention was focused on the metabolism of isoflavones in recent years, including their transport within plants and cultures in vitro. A research is focused on the transport mechanism identification across cell or vacuolar membrane. There are localized different transporters as or the transport of some metabolites can take place through membrane vesicules. The release of five isoflavones (genistin, genistein, biochanin A, daidzein and formononetin) into nutrient medium was observed in suspension culture of Genista tinctoria L and Trifolium pratense L. These cultures were treated with NH4VO3 solutions (1 a 10 M concentration) when isoflavon content in medium was higher after 24 hours. This increased volume of isoflavones was supressed by different transport mechanism inhibitors. The transport of isoflavones in T. pratense was influenced by ABC inhibitors from MRP subfamily, but genistein concentration in medium was lower after treatment with MDR subfamily inhibitors. Brefeldin A, which blocks vesicular transport, also decreased concentration of...
The Development of Education Structure of Microregion České Budějovice
Hovorková, Kateřina ; Ouředníček, Martin (advisor) ; Kubeš, Jan (referee)
Socio-spatial differentiation is natural phenomenon observable in almost all scales. However, the causes and consequences of this phenomenon can be different in particular areas or the era. Income inequality has increased in the Czech Republic since 1989, as well as unemployment and various social problems, which are reflected in the social environment of villages and towns as well as in municipal decision-making. The aim of the diploma thesis is to identify social (educational) diferentiation at several spatial hierarchy levels. The main part of the thesis emphasizes understanding the evolution of socio-spatial differentiation at local level in micro-region České Budějovice from 1989 to the present using the education level of the population and identifies areas with positive and negative development. The education is considered as the indicator of socio- economic status, human capital or relative income. The intention of the thesis is to identify the areas with higher concentration of people with higher and lower socio-economic status and also find the main factors and mechanisms that create these spatial patterns. This thesis works primarily with the cencus data. The diploma thesis also provides basic development maps of the population patterns with lower and higher social status from the...

The development of housing policy in Písek after 1989 and its impact on residental differentiation and segregation
Jindrová, Veronika ; Matoušek, Roman (advisor) ; Kubeš, Jan (referee)
This thesis focuses on the development of housing policy in Písek after 1989 and its impact on residential differentiation and segregation. To do this it was necessary to carry out interviews with key stakeholders and to link the findings with quantitative analysis. From the research, it was found that the city primarily established rules of allocation and sale of city apartments and also tried to address the issue of social housing, especially in the context of an aging population. Also important was the development of residential development, which the town supported the various tools. Influence of the housing policy in Písek created several locations which became attractive for housing. In the city, however, also located 2 socially excluded localities incurred controlled migration socially maladjusted people. As an endangered locality by segregation and social exclusion is denoted housing estate Portyč where is but rather a residential differentiation. It is also possible to observe the cooperation of the city with local actors, as well as disputes between the leaders of housing policy. Contribution of the thesis also focuses on analyzing the implications of municipal housing policy of the city and its inhabitants. Key words: housing policy, Písek, residential differentiation, segregation

In vitro cultures of medicinal plants - XIII.
Kubeš, Jan ; Tůmová, Lenka (advisor) ; Martin, Jan (referee)
Jan Kubeš Genista tinctoria in vitro - abiotická elicitace Cultures of medicinal plants in vitro - XIII. The plants cultures in vitro contain lesser amounts of secondary metabolites in compare with intact plants. The elicitors can affect these metabolites production. The effect of electric current (50mA) of different voltage (5, 7, 8, 10, 15, 20 and 24 V) and different time exposition (10, 30, and 60 minutes) on content of isoflavones was studied on (Genista tinctoria) suspension culture. The highest concentration of genistin (0.17 %) was measured in suspension culture after 30 min of elicitation by 10 V after 6 hours of cultivation. The highest concentration of daidzein (0.35 %) was found in suspension culture after 60 min of elicitation by 5 V after 24 hours of cultivation. The highest concentration of genistin (1.6 mg/100ml) was measured in medium after 30 min of elicitation by 5 V after 24 hours of cultivation. The highest concentration of daidzein (1.77 mg/100ml) was found in medium after 10 min of elicitation by 24 V after 6 hours of cultivation.
Local stakeholders of the suburbanization process in the case of České Budějovice
Čejková, Eva ; Ouředníček, Martin (advisor) ; Kubeš, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with identification of local actors of a residential suburbanization. The main interest of this work is suburban area of the town České Budějovice, which is in this post- socialistic period undergoing intensive residential construction and population development. The tools, which could possibly control this process (to prevent its negativ impacts and on the other hand to support its positives) are very limited. The most important tool for controlling the development of the territory (which is municipal plan) is available to particular municipalities. However it indicates now that the attitude of the municipalities towards town and country planning is rather "difficult". Councils are under a big pressure of the individual builders, landowners and also developers, who require expansion of the usable territories for more building. The councils usually comply those requirements and they are willing to change the municipal plan. From communities point of view and also from metropolitan region point of view can such steps lead to too fast and extensive building development with series of negative impacts. In the thesis there is an intention to document this inappropriate suburbanization development by a case study of the village Srubec, which is affected by so called urban sprawl impacts. The...
