Novotný, Otomar ; Jindra, Matouš (advisor) ; Fořterová, Petra (referee)
Title: The Reliability of Measuring on the Skytech Interactive Ski Simulator Objectiv: The goal of this work is to investigate the reliability of the measurement of energy expenditure on the Skytech Interactive Ski Simulator. Methods: The sample consisted of 14 subjects, among which were 9 boys and 5 girls. The value of energy expenditure was measured by indirect calorimetry using the energy equivalent and respiratory exchange ratio. For the measurement of respiratory gases, the Metamax 3B metabolic analyzer and for the analysis of heart rate, the Polar S610 heart rate monitor were used. The subjects completed two measurements, each lasting 6 minutes. During this time, the data needed for subsequent calculations reliability were measured. Assuming that the pair of measuring has a two-dimensional distribution, the reliability equals the correlation coefficient. It was computed using the maximum likelihood method. Results: The measurement of energy expenditure on the Skytec Interactive Simulator provided consistent and reliable results. The findings in this study can be applied to further testing on this machine. Conclusion: The reliability of energy expenditure reached 0,84, a result better than the usual values of reliability tests, which may typically be about 0,8. Keywords: Energy expenditure,...

Čuříková, Lada ; Süss, Vladimír (advisor) ; Jandová, Soňa (referee) ; Fořterová, Petra (referee)
Headline: Swimming technique of physically disabled swimmers with unilateral above-knee amputation Aim of the Thesis: The aim of this thesis is to describe the intra-individual differences in the swimming technique of unilateral above-knee amputees by measuring the EMG of selected muscle groups. Methods: Surface EMG measurement in combination with using synchronized video recordings. Results: Research of the observed swimmers with unilateral above-knee amputation showed that: when swimming the front crawl, the swimmers unequally balance the intense kick of right and left leg mainly using the abdominal muscles and subsequently also in the electric potential of different sizes in other observed muscles; when swimming the backstroke, the upper body muscles on the side of amputated limb do not show any different activity than the muscles of the opposite side; when swimming the breaststroke, the main propulsion muscle for locomotion through the shoulder girdle - m. latissimus dorsi is activated for a longer period of time on the side of amputated limb; thereby, electrical activity of the selected muscles is not symmetrical in the timeline. Key words: swimming step, swimming, above-knee amputation, electromyography, muscle activity, handicap, EMG.

Title: Didactic methods for teaching of skiing of beginners 6-10 years old Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis is to create a "ranking alphabet" for skiing beginners at age from 6 to 10 years old (young school age) and following verification of its effectiveness by using different didactic methods during the skiing education in "Half-day skiing school" in Kubova Huť. Methods: This is a case study that has the character of descriptions with the nature of qualitative research. The main method was the participatory observation by five trained ski instructors. We also used the category system and created seven categories. These were skiing skills included in the "ranking alphabet". To capture the quality of execution, we chose the judging ranges for individual elements in the "ranking alphabet". Results: The ranking alphabet with seven elementary skills was created. Each skill was defined and its level was determined. Children were divided into two groups (parallel and plough ski position). It depended on the quality of individual skiing skills. Every group participated in modified skiing education. In the end skills of both groups were verified by slalom. The use of ski "ranking alphabet" at the beginning of ski training proved to be effective for skiing beginners. Key words: Children, downhill...
