Smart hydroponic system
Seč, Filip ; Juráň, Radovan (referee) ; Benešl, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the implementation of a smart hydroponic system with the capability of remote control and monitoring via a web interface. The main objective of the work is to design and implement hardware and software components for this system. Within the scope of the work, it is important to familiarize oneself with the issues of hydroponics and explore various types of hydroponic systems and their usage. Focus will also be given to the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of individual types of hydroponics. The next step involves getting acquainted with microcontrollers and sensors that will be used within the hydroponic system. Based on this, we will design a schematic connection and a printed circuit board (PCB) for the system. After designing the hardware, the implementation follows, along with bringing the de- signed modules to life. At this stage, it is necessary to program the individual modules so that they are able to communicate and process data. An important step is the design of communication with the web interface, which will enable data reading and system control. In this way, it will be possible to monitor the hydroponic system remotely. At the conclusion of the work, we verify the overall functionality of the system and compare it with existing commercial solutions available on the marke
Secured transfer of digital messages
Experimental Platform for Sensor Fusion Positioning Methods Evaluation
Juran, Radovan
Position and context awareness is becoming greater in importance as one of the key enablers of the Industry 4.0 concept, with impact on analysis and optimizing production processes, their direct control, increasing and ensuring the safety of personnel and technology, as well as enabling traceability of products. There are many approaches to achieve a real-time location system (RTLS) capable of providing positioning data, yet each approach usually has its limits given by the physical principles of technology which it is primarily based on; mostly a wireless signal transmission where the performance boundaries lay in non-line-of-sight (nLoS) scenarios. Current literature already presents various approaches capable of dealing with these shortcomings and presents various combinations of sensors based on different phenomena, the drawbacks of which are mutually compensated, known as sensor fusion. This work presents practical design of a compact platform, which utilizes Ultra-WideBand (UWB) as one of the predominant wireless technologies for wireless positioning with with IEEE 802.15.4z compliant radio integrated circuits in cooperation with a 9-axis absolute orientation sensor, expandable with add-on boards.
Measuring station firmware for wireless data collection via LoRaWAN
Jánoš, Vít ; Možný, Radek (referee) ; Juráň, Radovan (advisor)
This thesis deals with software development for STM32WL55-JC1 MCU. Development kit was chosen primarily bacause of its LPWAN possibilities. Final prototype communicates on LoRaWAN network. Data are sent through public network from The Things Network, these data are concentrations of carbon dioxide, temperatures and carbon dioxide flux. Data are also backed up locally on SD card along with timestamp. The software was designed with the use of the chamber measurement method in mind, which is also described in the text.
Intelligent wattmeter with network communication options (Ethernet / WiFi)
Haluška, Daniel ; Juráň, Radovan (referee) ; Rusz, Martin (advisor)
The goal of the Bachelor Thesis is the implementation of a measuring device for measuring alternating voltage, current and calculating of power consumption. A voltage divider with one-way offset is used for voltage measurement, and the ACS712 integrated circuit with a Hall sensor provides electric current measurement. The Arduino singleboard computer, for which the OLED display is suitable, takes care of the representation and calculation of the electrical power. Furthermore, this device allows communication with the Internet and through the server allows a simple graphical display of measured data. The manufactured measuring device allows measuring power regular outlet up to 3680 W.
UWB Automated Testing Tool
Charvát, Jan ; Juráň, Radovan (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the process of automating the testing of wireless locators. These devices use the UWB system, which is introduced in the theoretical part of this thesis. Furthermore, the topic of the testing process and the possibilities of its automation are discussed. The practical part of this thesis is devoted to the design and construction of an automated test fixture for UWB locators, both hardware and software part.
Universal Multi-Rat Tester For Mmtc Applications
Juráň, Radovan ; Možný, Radek
While the IoT has made significant progress along the lines of supporting its individualapplications, there are many massive Machine-Type Communication (mMTC) scenarios in which theperformance offered by any single Radio Access Technology (RAT) available today might be insufficient. To address these use cases, we introduce the concept of multi-RAT tester, which implies theavailability and utilization of several RATs within a single IoT device. We begin by offering insightsinto which use cases could be beneficial and what the key challenges for mMTC implementation are.We continue by discussing the potential technical solutions and employing our own prototype of amulti-RAT device capable of using different Low-Power Wide-Area (LPWA) communication technologies. It is assumed that use of multiple radios simultaneously will lead to overall improvementof communication parameters by leveraging the synergy between RATs. The novel vision enabledby the multi-RAT concept in this work could be impactful across multiple fields and calls for crosscommunityresearch efforts in order to adequately design, implement, and deploy future multi-RATmMTC solutions.
Implementation of IoT communication technologies in NS-3 simulation tool
Rehberger, Marek ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Juráň, Radovan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals in its theoretical part with LPWA communication technologies in the licensed frequency spectrum, specific technologies LTE Cat-M1 and NB-IoT. The theoretical part summarizes the terms concerning to LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network), licensed and unlicensed technologies, SmartGrids, NB-IoT and LTE Cat-M1. The use of LPWA technologies in the field of SmartGrids is described and the idea of Smart Metering in buildings is used in the work. Subsequently, in the practical part for the LTE Cat-M1 technology, the implementation of communication scenarios for data transmission within SmartGrids is performed using the tools Network Simulator 3 (NS-3) and the LENA module. The results of the simulations are clearly processed in the form of graphs and tables.
