Representing XML data by C-store
Částková, Zuzana ; Holubová, Irena (referee) ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (advisor)
C-store environment - relational database storing records on the disk by columns. Suitable for aggregations, optimalized for reading. Can it be effectively used as XML database? This thesis considers XML data with and without a schema. Database model is generated from a XML file for both cases. A measure of the model suitability is the possibility of making quick XPath queries. Ancestor, child, younger sibling - these are just some of the discussed XPath axes. Low level system enabling the estimation of number of jumps needed on drive is characteristic for algorithms for each axis. Result? Schema for XML data does not seem useful. Regarding the data without a schema, the use of C-store seems to be optimal. But ... Addition of certain functionality to the system would also be appropriate here - direct access to elements, possibility of not reading the whole column. The thesis extends the definition of C-store with these principles, and adds experiments with real data. The conclusion provides an example implementation of selected algorithms that might be used as guidance for further implementation.
Conceptual Design of Web Forms
Kasarda, Ján ; Holubová, Irena (referee) ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor)
As complexity of web applications and software grows, bene ts of applying modeling techniques for the development of such applications are increasing as well. In this work, we focus on modeling web forms which are an important part of current web applications. A short motivation example will demonstrate bene ts of modeling web forms at the conceptual level. We will then summarize existing approaches to conceptual modeling based on UML and Model-Driven Architecture (MDA). We will present XForms. Finally, we will discuss how to model web forms at the conceptual level and how to translate conceptual schemas of web forms to XForms representation. Our approach is based on MDA principles. Firstly, a problem domain is modeled at the conceptual level. Secondly, each form representing a part of the domain is modeled independently of its representation in XForms. The last step is generating XForms representations of the modeled forms.
An ER editor supporting conversions to relational model
Kozelková, Hana ; Skopal, Tomáš (advisor) ; Holubová, Irena (referee)
The task of the work is to implement an ER diagram editor for conceptual database modeling. ER diagrams are drawn by using notation which is taught in the course of Database systems at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University. The editor was created as a standard CASE tool. The program includes the mapping from the ER model to the relational model as well. The mapping results in a SQL-92 script for creation of tables in the database system. ISA hierarchy, n-ary relations and multivalued attributes are also supported. Before the mapping, the verification of the ER diagram is made. The work also contains theoretical principles and a comparison with some similar programs from both commercial and academic sphere.
Automatic construction of XML schema for a given set of XML documents
Vošta, Ondřej ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Toman, Kamil (referee)
XML is still more and more important format for storing and exchanging data. In the face of this tendency, there are still lots of documents, and new ones are created, without any decribtion of their structure. However, for correct exchanging and efficient storing and quering of data, there is a weighty need for some structure description. This thesis is focusing on a possibility to automatically generate such description from the set of given documents. The presented algorithm clusters document elements into groups according to the similarity of their structure. For each group is then infered a regular expression describes the structure of input elements using advantages of XML Schema language. Finally, all partial schemas are joined to the XML Schema document.
Our/my journey to BodyVoiceBand
Holubová, Iva ; PILÁTOVÁ, Jana (advisor) ; GROSSMANNOVÁ-MÁLKOVÁ, Marie (referee)
The subject of this thesis is the analysis of studies of the graduates of drama2013/2014 at the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Pragueunder the guidance of teachers MgA. Jaroslava Šiktancová Ph.D., MgA. LukášHlavica and doc. Marie Málková. I am describing the methods of our dramatictraining, which formed the basis for further joint work leading to the creation ofthe company BodyVoiceBand. My thesis describes the process chronologicallyfrom the very beginning of the study to the birth of the performance Vojna (TheWar), which we already prepared under the heading of BodyVoiceBand.I divided the thesis into three parts. In the first one I deal with the workshops ofFarma v jeskyni (Farm in a Cave), which were decisive for all our future work, forboth the ensemble, and the individuals. I described what kind of training wewent through during the workshops and the way it prepared us for furtherstudies. The second part deals with the study at the faculty. It is divided intosubheads according to the phenomena we were dealing with and which are thestarting point for a certain kind of work, thanks to which the bodyBodyVloiceBand started to shape. The third part is devoted to the production ofVojna /War, which is the result of our efforts, and which is the starting point ofthe formation of BodyVoiceBand. I focused on the way and course of preparingthe production.
Elevated temperature stimulates light-induced processes that contribute to protecting photosystem II against oxidative stress
Materová, Z. ; Štroch, Michal ; Holubová, I. ; Sestřenková, J. ; Oravec, Michal ; Večeřová, Kristýna ; Špunda, Vladimír
We focused on elucidating the impact of elevated temperature on rapid induction of zeaxanthin (Z)- dependent photoprotection in two different plant species. The dynamics of violaxanthin (V) de-epoxidation under different illumination regimes was studied together with chlorophyll a fluorescence transients in Picea abies seedlings and Arabidopsis thaliana leaves pre-acclimated to temperatures ranging from 20 to 40°C. Whereas for spruce seedlings the rapid phase of V de-epoxidation (induced by either 10 s illumination or 10 light pulses 1 s in duration at 1 min intervals) was gradually stimulated upon increasing temperatures, for A. thaliana leaves considerable acceleration of V de-epoxidation occurred only at 40°C. Moreover, only for spruce seedlings was a considerable amount of Z accumulated after 10 × 1 s illumination. Elevated temperatures stimulated rapid formation of Z-dependent non-radiative dissipation of excitation energy within photosystem II (NRD) induced by 1 s light pulses only for spruce seedlings. The possible role of a specific fatty acid composition in spruce thylakoid membrane lipids in facilitated V de-epoxidation and NRD induction at elevated temperatures is discussed.

Hodnocení výsledků firmy Faurecia Exhaust Systems, s. r. o. pomocí finanční analýzy
Holubová, Ivana ; Marek, Petr (advisor) ; Kaiser, Libor (referee)
