Pulse modulations
Šiška, Martin ; Atassi, Hicham (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
This work deals with the analysis of pulse modulation issues, work is divided into six chapters. The first chapter of the thesis deals with pulse modulations as a whole. It explains the concept of modulation, the distinction between analog and digital modulation, and there is the basic classification of pulse modulation done. The second chapter focuses on the issue of non-quantized pulse modulation. For each modulation belonging to this group is verbally and graphically explains the principle of its activities. In the third chapter, which is similar to the second chapter, the work focuses on quantized pulse modulation. Again, each of these modulations explained its basic principle. It is also in this chapter outlines the design models in Matlab-Simulink. The fourth chapter presents calculations and tables with calculated values needed for simulations. In the fifth chapter, a comparison waveforms. It contains a discussion about the dependence of modulation on their parameters, parameters of the input signal and the sampling frequency. In the final sixth chapter deals with the early design concepts and detailed diagrams for the production of demonstration products.

Automatic counting of people
Mitáček, Štěpán ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Koutný, Martin (advisor)
This effort deals with the problem of effective counting of people in the room. Although more companies deal with this problem at present, but their systems are very expensive. For this reason I strive to find a cheaper solution for counting people using active infra- red sensors by which I want to perceive the passage of a person through the door or his presence in the room. In addition it is necessary to take into consideration the other various situations that may occur when a person comes into the room or when he/she leaves. These situations can be in many cases similar, but the output should be able correctly distinguish the possibilites. The result of this effort is detector which is able to detect correctly one person or more people passing the door. People can browse through a door one behind the other, but they also can pass in the doorway in random combinations.
Smart Simulator of Resistive Sensors for Life-Cycle Tests
Pospíšil, Jakub ; Mišurec, Jiří (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
The document is made as an operating item at evaluating of life tests for connected equipments. There is set of bookcases, thanks to them we can use the equipment simply. The digital potenciometer is used like a stimulator of resistance sensor in this equipment. The equipment is able to communicate with PC. The mikrocontroler ATmega324p is the most important part of the equipment.
Spread-spectrum Communication System
Machala, Pavel ; Šimek, Milan (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
The thesis focuses on issues around communication system with the Direct Spread Spectrum Signal Signal. This work outlines the theoretical analysis of this technique and subsequently is created a communication system concept. The device concept is adjusted so that the device can be used as a laboratory device, presenting the spreading technique. This thesis offers a comprehensive and detailed description of the communication system construction, including design of transmitter, receiver and a common transmission channel. In conclusion are stated the results of devised communication system.
Ambulant Cardiac Monitor
Vaníček, Aleš ; Strašil, Ivo (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
This thesis describes the design and practical realization of a prototype mobile, battery-powered device that is able to periodically recording electrocardiogram and fotopletysmogram or blood pressure. Data from these periodic scanning is processed by microcontroller and stored on a memory card which is part of the proposed device. The device can be connected to a PC via USB like a virtual serial port.
Analyzer of IEEE 802.15.4 radio channels
Pokorný, Jiří ; Číž, Radim (referee) ; Šimek, Milan (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with development of the radio channel analyser operating in the unlicensed 2.4 GHz band according to IEEE 802.15.4 standard. The analyzer will contain two basic functions, namely energy detection of channels and analysation of selected channel. Detection of energy will be solved by selection between simple graph and text list on display. Based on information about the occupancy of channels the user can decide which channel would be set up. During the receiving of valid frame the source address, signal strength and signal quality will be stored. At the end the processor will show these data on display. For controlling the device will be installed two LEDs and four buttons.
Software for Communication with GPS Receiver
Vrba, Pavol ; Daněček, Vít (referee) ; Číž, Radim (advisor)
The main goal of this master’s thesis is to over study, reconsider and make a program, which will be capable to interpose information from GPS module, different markers and necessary information’s, geographic coordinates obtained from GPS will be projected in its interface and also on map. This project contains of 3 parts. The first one exactly describes GPS, its history, structure, principle, competitive types of navigations systems and also GPS’ services and technical parameters. The second part of this project describes GPS hardware, used receiver of this signal. There is also mentioned its technical parameters and communication with outside world. The third part is in scripted the software for communication with GPS receiver. We can also see the description of code, in which is mentioned communication protocol and imaging the position on the map. It was programmed in C# language on platform Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition.
