Low temperature scanning tunneling microscopy
Sojka, Antonín ; Havlíček,, Marek (referee) ; Pavera, Michal (advisor)
The diploma thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part describes the production of chrome and cobalt tips for SP-STM with subsequent testing of chrome tips on the Fe-Ir system (111). Furthermore, the first results from the growth studies of niobium on iridium(111) are presented. In the second part is described in detail the experimental LT-STM microscope of the Faculty of Physical Engineering. The chapter deals with the development of the microscope and its testing on a HOPG sample under atmospheric and vacuum conditions. The chapter describes the biggest problems which were solved when the microscope was puting into operation state. The second part also introduces the design of a new vacuum transport system, which consists of a tip and sample transport pallet. At the end of the second part is described the testing of cooling systems for LT-STM and the design of their modifications.
Unified Design of Box Gripper Telescopes for Navette and SMC Storage Machines
Sojka, Michal ; Václav, Miloš (referee) ; Škopán, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is unified design of box gripper telescopes for Navette and SMC storage machines. The work contains technical report and drawings documentation. The first part of technical report is aim to research of similar constructions used in the world. Followed by own construction solution, including needed calculation. At the final part of work was created a tolerance analysis of new telescope. The drawings documentation contains assembly and subassembly drawings.
Prediction on Capital Market by Fundamental Analysis
Hovorka, Jan ; Prokopec, Michal (referee) ; Sojka, Zdeněk (advisor)
The master’s thesis is focused on prediction on capital market by fundamental analysis. It's principle and methods that can be used for intrinsic stock value evaluation are described in the theoretical part. The experimental part goes in for the fundamental analysis of the company ČEZ. Evaluated intrinsic value of the stock is compared with the current price of a stock on the Czech stock exchange and the investment strategy is discussed.
Tilting head for mini excavators
Zámečník, Stanislav ; Sojka, Michal (referee) ; Škopán, Miroslav (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the structural design of the tilting hitch intended for mini-excavators. This thesis includes a critical research of similar devices. Based on this research, there is a custom design of tilting hitch with tilting using linear hydraulic motors created. Furthermore, all necessary calculations of the main parts and strength analysis of the supporting structure are carried out and drawing documentation is created. This diploma thesis was developed in cooperation with the company STAVES s.r.o..
Acceleration of 2D Wavelet transform on parallel architectures
Kula, Michal ; Schier, Jan (referee) ; Sojka, Eduard (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
Design of single-crystal sample holder for high-frequency electron paramagnetic resonance
Gabriš, Andrej ; Kern, Michal (referee) ; Sojka, Antonín (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis discusses the design and manufacture of non-resonant sample holder for the study of oriented crystals, which is used for high-frequency electron paramagnetic resonance (HF-EPR). The first part of the thesis is a theoretical introduction to EPR with the application of high frequency (80-1100 GHz) and high magnetic field (16 T). This work further analyzes the topic of crystal samples anisotropy and introduces the review of materials suitable for a sample holder, which is used in low-temperature conditions (4 K). The practical part of the thesis deals with the constructional design of the rotary sample holder. This section also compares the manufacturing possiblities of the selected parts of the sample holder: machining (milling and turning) and 3D printing. Lastly, this work describes the development of the user interface for automatization of an EPR spectrum measurement.
Design and Applications of Special-Purpose Two-Dimensional Visual Markers
Application of Software Components in Operating System Design
Děcký, Martin ; Tůma, Petr (advisor) ; Döbel, Björn (referee) ; Sojka, Michal (referee)
This thesis describes the primary goal of the HelenOS microkernel multiserver operating system. The primary goal of the HelenOS project is to create a comprehensive research and development platform in the domain of general-purpose operating systems that would support state-of-the-art approaches and methods (such as verification of correctness) while at the same time focusing on practical relevance. The text of the thesis describes what specific means in terms of design (based on software components), implementation, development process and verification are used to achieve the primary goal. The thesis also evaluates the current state of HelenOS. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Impact of the regulatory T cells detection and differences in expession of tumor antigens in ovarian cancer
Kloudová, Kamila ; Sojka, Luděk (advisor) ; Čáp, Michal (referee)
Regulatory T cells (Treg) play a key role in maintaining the immune tolerance. They suppress development of autoimmune diseases and contribute to maintaining the homeostasis of the immune system. Expansion and excessive ability of regulatory T cells to suppress the immune response is increasingly observed also at many types of cancer. Due to the active inhibition of the antitumor immune response Treg contribute to tumor progression. Specific phenotype based detection and analysis of Treg functional properties may contribute to the successful monitoring of Treg accounts and to the effective cancer immunotherapy itself. Tumor cells express high amounts of so-called tumor antigens, which may play a key role in the antitumor immune response. Expression level of the tumor antigens gives the evidence about relevancy of each antigen in the specific immune response and efficiency of cancer immunotherapy. These data are obviously important to be obtained from the tumor cell lines as well as primary tumor cells. In the first part of the thesis I was focusing on the quantitative analysis of regulatory T cells in tumor tissue and peripheral blood of patients with ovarian cancer. For this purpose I used the newly introduced methyl-sensitive quantitative PCR (MS-qPCR) method and compare the data with the widely...
