Alcohol Consumption of Prague High School Students and Its Origin in the Socialization Factors

Angelika Nelly Petrová Abstract The bachelor's thesis called "Alcohol Consumption of Prague's High School Students and Its Origin in the Socialization Factors" is about the consumption of alcohol by high school students, secondary technical school students and secondary vocational school students and the potential reasons for this alcohol consumption. The factors of socialization, such as the impact of the family, peer groups and school, are discussed in detail. The topic is first analyzed in the theoretical section that presents the main concepts, which are later on applied in the practical section, as well as the surveys that were exploited and became an inspiration for the bachelor's thesis. The practical section defines the survey objective, the survey task and related issues, the methodology of data collection and processing and their possible alternatives. It describes the methodological tool (SAQ), its individual dimensions and changes made after the pilot study. The findings are first presented for the entire target group, than are the respondents classified by gender and type of school they attend, which shows a significant difference between men and women as to the volume of consumed alcohol. Using alcohol among adolescents and its causes.

The thesis " Alcohol use among adolescents and its causes " explores the phenomenon of alcohol use among adolescents in the target population of students in graduation year and student which are year before graduation of secondary school, gymnasium, or equivalent grades of secondary vocational schools. The topic is first discussed in theory, presents the main concepts, with which is working in the study, as well as researchs from which it was drawn, and the author was inspired by them in his work. There is also discussed research methodolog , sampling, data collection, method which was used (SAQ), there is also description of a methodological tool and its various dimensions, as well as any changes that have occurred on the basis of the pilot study. First, the work describes descriptive results of state alcohol use in the Czech Republic among adolescents. Research shows that young people in the target population in consuming alcoholic drinks are most affected by peer groups, in which they are socialized, while influence of family loses effectiveness. Measurement of using alcohol among adolescents and its causes

Bachelor thesis "Measuring alcohol consumption among adolescents and its causes" deals with creation of a methodological tool that will reliably and efficiently measure the risk and harmful behavior of young people committed during consumption of alcoholic beverages - and therewithal pointing out the causes of this behavior. This is achieved by a synthesis of theoretical sources, dealing with alcohol abuse in adolescents and the factors that influence such behavior, preceded it or stimulate it. There is also used some foreign studies which were conducted on similar topics and the results are incorporated into this work and builds on them in sub-sections or socialization dimensions. Finally, this work is also inspired by some of international methodological tools created specifically to measure the behavior associated with the alcohol and allow a respondent self-reflection. Completed methodological tool is tested first at piloting and pilot interviews with respondents, followed by pilot probe conducted on a larger sample of the target population, and according to them is further adjusted in terms of reliability and validity to the final form, which should already be fully usable in a practical research and investigation testify about the specific causes of socialization that influence or give rise...
