The effect of foot stimulation on postural stability of patients after stroke - objectivisation by a footscan
Zárubová, Markéta ; Pochylová, Barbora (advisor) ; Táborská, Silvie (referee)
BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Author's first name and surname: Markéta Zárubová Bachelor thesis supervizor: Mgr. Barbora Pochylová Oponent: Title of bachelor thesis: The effect of foot stimulation on postural stability of patients after stroke - objectivisation by a footscan Abstract: This bachelor thesis is focused on determining the effect of foot stimulation on the postural stability of stroke patients using stimulation aids. Three hemiparetic patients have been chosen for this thesis. The therapeutic effect has been analyzed using the Footscan®7.x system, a noninvasive method showing the foot sole pressure distribution. Measurements have been taken before and after foot stimulation in several standing modifications: standing on a broad basis and standing on a narrow basis. In each of these two standing modifications, measurements with eyes opened and closed have been taken. Three different types of stimulation aids have been used in each patient item-by-item. Values of the parameters before and after foot stimulation were entered into tables allowing for the comparison of all three aids. The results are presented in tables and graphs. Key words: Postural stability, stroke, footscan, foot, stimulation aids
Influencing the gait pattern in hemiparesis patients after stroke employing some aspects of Bobath concept.
Srp, Martin ; Pochylová, Barbora (advisor) ; Pitrmanová, Věra (referee)
The title of the work: Influencing the gait pattern in hemiparesis patiens after stroke employing some aspects of Bobath concept Abstract: The aim of this work is to objectify the success of the Bobath Concept in treatment of the gait pattern in hemiparetic patients after stroke. Objectification is performed by two standardized tests evaluating the quality and function of the gait - The Timed up and go test and The Rivermead visual gait assessment. In the theoretical part, the author discusses general problems of stroke, definition and general characteristics of the gait, stereotype of pathological gait in hemiparetic patients, the theoretical basis and fundamental principles of The Bobath Concept. The author is also giving examples of toolless for evaluation of the quality and function of the gait, represented by Timed up and go test, six and twelve minute walking test, Rivermead visual gait assessment, Rancho Los Amigos gait analysis form. The practical part describes the methodology of the work, used methods, the main question of this work and the definition of the research sample. It also consists of case reports and therapeutic algorithms of two hemiparetic patients after the stroke. The gait is evaluated before and after the therapy using standardized tests and the main question of this work is...
The observation of the influence of Vojta's reflex locomotion on the activity of the shoulder girdle's muscles with surface electromyography
Pochylová, Barbora ; Valouchová, Petra (advisor) ; Zounková, Irena (referee)
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the influence of Vojta's reflex locomotion on the activity of the shoulder girdle's muscles with surface electromyography. We also observed the activity of some of the trunk's muscles. We tested phasic and support function of the upper extremity in several movements on 15 healthy people. It didn't bring many significant values. It could be caused by different sensitivities of the participants for the stimulation, the short time of the stimulation, individual motoric stereotypes or not so strongly expressed muscle dysbalantion within healthy individuals.
The possibilities of influencing walking stereotypes with botulinum toxin
Kolářová, Edita ; Angerová, Yvona (advisor) ; Pochylová, Barbora (referee)
Title: The possibilities of influencing walking stereotypes with botulinum toxin Abstract: The thesis is focused on finding opportunities to influence the walking stereotype of patients suffering from spasticity of the lower limbs by botulinum toxin. The aim of thesis is to compare the quality of walking stereotype of these patients before and after the application of botulinum toxin by using a standardized test intended to evaluate the walk and based on the results to evaluate the effect of botulinum toxin on the walking stereotype. While reading the theoretical part the reader is familiar with the basic concepts related to the problems such as spasticity, botulinum toxin and walking stereotype. The scales evaluating the muscle tone are subsequently described (The Modified Ashworth scale, The Tardieu Scale) and of course the scales evaluating the walking stereotype are also mentioned (Rancho Los Amigos Gait Analysis Form, Gait Assessment Rating Scale, Rivermead Visual Gait Assessment, Tinetti Balance And Gait Evaluation). Scales evaluating the walking stereotype are also described in detail at thesis, their pros and cons are highlighted and upon the preferences of the author, one of these scales is selected to be applied in the practical part. The practical part is composed of case studies of two patients...
