Tomečková, Marie ; Grünfeldová, H. ; Peleška, Jan ; Hanuš, P. ; Marušiaková, M.
By atherosclerosis are affected men and women too, but it is given much less attention to these diseases in women. In the outpatient department of EuroMISE Centre in Prague, more women then men were examined. Women were older, their risk profile (factors antropometric, clinical, socio-economic and laboratory) was some better then in men, but not near to optimal values. It is necessary to bring advance attention to the investigation, prevention and the treatment of risk factors of atherosclerosis in women.

Some New Devices in Telemedicine
Peleška, Jan ; Anger, Z. ; Gütter, Z. ; Zvárová, Jana
Development of new devices with a data storage, later also with their transport via the stable and mobile telephone network brought new knowledge and improved diagnostics and therapy. In chronic diseases the telemonitoring of important variables – glycemia in diabetes, body weight in heart failure and blood pressure in arterial hypertension – is advantageous. It enables BP readings at home and in work for a better evaluation of therapy, to reduce number of visits and improve patients´ collaboration.

The analysis of monetary reform in Czechoslovakia in 1953
Peleška, Josef ; Stellner, František (advisor) ; Szobi, Pavel (referee)
The thesis focuses on the analysis of monetary reform in 1953. It describes the causes, the influence of Soviet advisers, course and consequences of the socialist economy. It is also handled with the problem of reaction of population and response party organs, in particular with regard to problems arising from lack of development of consumer goods industry and preference for heavy industry. Based on the hypothesis that the reform has become a tool to solve serious economic problems to complete the transition to a planned economy, and that was associated with a number of other economic arrangements (cancellation of a ticket system supply, the introduction of uniform retail prices).
