Viktor Ullmann and his third string quartet

This thesis deals with Viktor Ullmann, a Czech-German composer of Jewish descent, and with his third string quartet. The text is arranged into three chapters. The first part describes Viktor Ullmann's life. His life is divided into two periods. The first period is delienated by the years 1898-1942 and the second one is focused on the last two years of the composer's life, 1942-1944, which he spent in Terezín concentration camp. The second chapter deals with Ullmann's third string quartet, which he composed in Terezín ghetto in the year 1943.

The following thesis is working on the string quartets by Bohuslav Martinů. The Autor focuses on ?Zero?, The First ?French?, 2nd, 4th and 5th String quartet and on Concerto for string quartet with orchestra. In the thesis is a comprehensive analysis, but mainly focused on working with autograph score, comparing with printed score, and partly with recordings. Also is focused on the interpretative notes.

Bohuslav Martinů as a Composer - violinist

The aim of this paper "BOHUSLAV MARTINŮ - COMPOSER - VIOLINIST" is to explore the violinconcertos and chamber music violin parts, composed by this 20th century genius. His symphonies, operas, chorals and dramatic compositions are merely mentioned. Their list is not complete, as their analysis is not the aim of this paper.
Detailed attention is given to Martinů´s violin compositions, how these relate chronologically to events in his life and correspond with the composer´s biografy. Exploring Martinů´s violin compositions from the composer - violinist's point of view constitutes a rewarding perspective for examining Martinů´s legacy. Purposively chosen works are analysed, with regards to their individual components and samples of scores.
The violin compositions are listed in Chapter 9, subsection 9.1 on Page 130, enabling an easier search of titles.
This work provides a deeper insight into a specific section of the works of Bohuslav Martinů, offering researchers, professional musicians and lay readers alike some important information concerning one part of Martinů´s extensive work.

A constituent of this master´s project is a detailed cross-section of his life, it characterizes his personality, pegagogic methodology and there is also a chapter devoted to memories and expressions his closest people.

History of the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice from 1838 to 1945

In my bachelor thesis I write about the history of the North Czech Philharmonic Teplice namely from 1838 to 1945. It is divided into five main chapters. The first chapter discusses the spa music events in Teplice and also the circumstances of the spa orchestra itself . The second chapter gives a comprehensive overview of the various personalities of each bandleader and presents them in connection with their work as a head of the band. In the third chapter we learn about the stay of some famous composers in Teplice, who often came here not only to the spa to recover and gain new energy, but also for get inspiration for their next creating. The fourth chapter, like the second, brings a list of some famous artists who performed in Teplice, either as a soloist or conductor. The fifth chapter titled Theatre in Teplice additionally completes the view of the cultural background of Teplice since 1874, where many concerts of world music masters have been held, which is being mentioned in the previous chapter. Enriching the work I attach a picture, showing for example historical papers, old photographs and posters of concerts.

Václav Hudeček - Profile of the Artist

Violin virtuoso Václav Hudeček dedicated his life to music and concert stages.Among the musicians, especially violinists, in the whole word, the name Václav Hudeček means a lot. This bachelor thesis is brief section of his life since his violin beginnings, across the cocerts with the best orchestras in the most prestigious halls, studies with David Oistrach, ending with passing his virtuoso experiences to the young generation of musicians.
