Patch antenna with EBG substrate
Cepek, Tomáš ; Pítra, Kamil (referee) ; Hebelka, Vladimír (advisor)
The aim of the thesis is to describe EBG substrate and exminate his influence on some types of antennas and choose one of them for realization. In first part this thesis describes the paramaeters of antenna in generall, in the second part is dedicated to introduction with EBG substrate mainly on the surface with the high impedance (HIES). The third part deals with the simulations of microstrip patch antennas with EBG substrate and without EBG substrate. In the last parts was designed and optimized antenna using superstrate.
Microstrip lowpass filter
Kubín, Petr ; Pítra, Kamil (referee) ; Vágner, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the design of an elliptic microstrip low pass filter. In the introduction, there is discussed theory of the filter design with discrete components. Then, the following part describes the design of the microstrip filter with distributed parameters. To simulate the characteristics of the designed filter structure, the simulator Ansoft Designer V2 was used. This software was also used for final optimization of the microstrip filter.
Satellite Receiver with Integrated Antenna Tuner
Matoušek, Martin ; Pítra, Kamil (referee) ; Urbanec, Tomáš (advisor)
This work is focused on proposal of receiver with Integrated Antenna Tuner operating at 28 MHz. The design was primarily focused on simplicity and low power consumption. The receiver is adapted for SSB modulation. This work was realized for the transmission of audio signals. SSB modulation is far more efficient in terms of the radio spectrum used. First part of this thesis describes about the Antenna Tuner and block diagram of a receiver. Next parts are focused on proposal of individual blocks of the receiver, especially its most important parts. Finally, the overall evaluations of the design characteristics of SSB receivers with Integrated Antenna Tuner are discussed.
Radar cross section of passenger cars
Hanslík, Radovan ; Pítra, Kamil (referee) ; Raida, Zbyněk (advisor)
This diploma thesis is aimed at radar cross section of passenger cars. Basic scattering parameters of simple targets are described. Selected numeric methods used for computing radar cross section are discussed. Shape and size of simplified vehicle models is investigated. Simulations are verified by computing RCS of objects with well-known characteristics. Radar cross section of Skoda Octavia was simulated using selected numeric methods. Results of all performed simulations are shown in included graphs. Experimental measurment of radar cross section of a vehicle was performed so the measured data can be compared with the simulations.
Design of antenna array for MSPS radar operating in L-band
Gaja, Tomáš ; Pítra, Kamil (referee) ; Láčík, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of an antenna array for the MSPS Radar L band application. The introduction covers a research for a suitable antenna element which can be used as an element of steerable antenna array. The control of the main beam is enabled in the vertical plane. Based on a presented theory, a slotted waveguide antenna array with an omnidirectional radiation in the vertical plane is designed. The operating frequency is set to 1 367.5 MHz. Slotted array achieves 20° width of the main beam in elevation plane. The achieved gain of the array is 9.15 dBi. Further attention of this work is focused on the beam steering that is allowed by diode switching. The last part of the thesis presents manufacturing process of the designed model. The CST Microwave Studio software was used for the antenna array designing process.
(Sub)millimeter-Wave Antennas
Dual-Band Helix Antenna for WiFi band
Šrajbr, Michal ; Tkadlec, Roman (referee) ; Pítra, Kamil (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focused on the properties and types of helical antennas. The helical antenna work in the different modes. These modes are described in this thesis. There are also discussed possibility for design a dual-band helical antennas. The main aim of this work is the selection of a suitable solution and design a dual-band helical antenna for the WiFi band working at resonance frequencies of 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz. The simulation of this antenna was performed in the program CST Microwave studio.
Directional antenna for 60 GHz frequency band
Kratochvíl, Jakub ; Pítra, Kamil (referee) ; Láčík, Jaroslav (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to study the possibilities and problems of low-profile antennas and subsequently to design a directional antenna with spherical reflector for millimeter wavelengths. The theoretical part deals with basic information about horn and reflector antennas, and about SIW technology. In addition, the thesis deals with the specific design and modeling of the antenna using CST Microwave Studio. The simulated design achieved a sufficient bandwidth to cover ISM (57 GHz to 64 GHz) with gain 13.6 dBi at 60 GHz frequency. On fabricated antenna, the antenna impedance ratios were worse and the target bandwidth was not reached. Antenna gain was 14.33 dBi at 60 GHz frequency.
Automated Measurement Unit
Jorda, Ivo ; Lukeš, Zbyněk (referee) ; Pítra, Kamil (advisor)
This project deals with problematics of temperature mesurement. It describes electro- technic and electronic temperature senzors working on different physical principles. Each type of senzor is then described by basic properties, advantages and disadvantages. Subsequently design of the measuring unit communicating with a computer via USB and its software is described. The last chapter describes temperature measurement by automatized unit a its deviations of measurement.
