Sol-gel synthesis of ternary ZnxTiyOz nanostructures for applications in solar cell technologies and photonics
Mrázek, Jan ; Nižňanský, Daniel (advisor) ; Pinkas, Jiří (referee) ; Pollert, Emil (referee)
The presented study deals with the sol-gel synthesis of nanocrystalline ternary phases of the general formula ZnxTiyOz, their characterization and potential application in photonics. Achieved results brings new fundamental knowledge about the processes leading to the formation of ZnxTiyOz nanocrystals from amorphous xerogels and gives novel information about structural and opto-electrical properties of prepared materials. Based on the presented results, most of all up-to-date reported ZnxTiyOz compounds with tailored nanocrystalline size and structure can be prepared as powders or thin films. Two sol-gel approaches based on the cluster process and direct heteronucleation were employed to prepare initial sol. Sols were optionally doped by Eu3+ ions to evaluate the effects of rare earth element to crystallization properties of formed compounds. In the first part of our study crystallization properties and structural evolution of thermally treated xerogels were analyzed. As a result a versatile method allowing the preparation of inverse spinel Zn2TiO4, cubic defect spinel ZnTiO3 and rhombohedral ZnTiO3 with tailored nanocrystal sizes was established. Initial composition and thermal annealing allow us to prepare selected ternary phase with tailored nanocrystal size ranging from tens of nanometers up to...
The Influence of Passive Safety Features During Vehicle Collisions with Pedestrians
Mrázek, Jan ; Vémola, Aleš (referee) ; Tokař, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the influence of passive safety features during vehicle collisions with pedestrians. The first part focuses on introducing the basic components of active and passive vehicle safety. The second part deals with construction and usage of modern components of passive safety during vehicle collisions with pedestrians. A comparing situation model of vehicle collisions with pedestrian is introduced in the third part for which a simulation programme has been used. At the close of this part there is a result synthesis of these model situations. The last part deals with the possibility of increasing pedestrian safety.
Influence of Czech Republic Rating on its Debt Service
Mrázek, Jan ; Vopátek, Jiří (advisor) ; Zayml, Michal (referee)
This thesis deals with the activity of rating agencies and the sovereign rating in-fluence on debt service of the Czech Republic. In the theoretical part there is described the rating concept and its importance for society. Next there is described the history of the most significant rating agencies, so-called "The Big Three". The second part of this thesis is dedicated mainly to the sovereign rating of the Czech Republic that is compared with the sovereign ratings of other countries of the EU. Finally, I analyze whether there is a connection with the determinativ of the level of dependence between sovereign rating and interest on new government bonds, GDP, and state debt.
Finanční analýza podniku STROJMETAL KAMENICE s.r.o.
Mrázek, Jan ; Klečka, Jiří (advisor) ; Špička, Jindřich (referee)
This Bachelor's Thesis focuses on financial analysis and its application on selected company during certain period of time (years 2001 to 2010). It uses its methods to increase the capability of data found in the financial statements to give meaningful information. The theoretical part of the Bachelor's Thesis focuses on introducing and describing various methods of financial analysis whereas the practical part of it focuses on application of the methods on the selected company and interpretation of the results. Special heed is paid to the years 2008, 2009 and 2010 and the ability of the financial analysis to display the global economic crisis and the following recovery.
Analysis of Municipal Waste Processing System in a particular City
Mrázek, Jan ; Černá, Anna (advisor) ; Koubková, Lenka (referee)
This thesis deals with municipal waste. The thesis describes a system for collection, purchase, transport, sorting, disposal and overal waste management in the city of Tábor. For my thesis I chose Tábor city, because I was born there and I live nearby. At the beginning I am introducing the most important law in the field of waste management -- Act No. 185/2001 Coll., On waste and amending some other Acts, which describes some basic concepts. The next section describes the company Rumpold Ltd., which deals with collection and processing system of municipal waste in Tábor. The thesis also list the real costs of waste management for the city of Tábor in 2011. In the practical part, I described and then analyzed the three routes for separated waste collection by method Travelling Salesmen Problem, and to assess whether drivers Rumpold Ltd. are optimally selected route.

The contribution presents results of the research of an optical glucose sensor. The detection of oxygen depletion caused by glucose oxidation under glucoseoxidase catalysis was used in the glucose sensors. Fluorescence quenching of ruthenium complexes by oxygen was used for the oxygen detection. The complexes and enzyme were immobilized in inorganic-organic ORMOCER membranes. Developed fiber-optic sensors enable to detect glucose in concentrations up to 3 mmol/L and with response times of about 20s.
Detection of aromatic hydrocarbons in air and water by using xerogel layers coated on PCS fibers excited by an inclined collimated beam
Cherif, K. ; Hleli, S. ; Abdelghani, A. ; Jaffrezic-Renault, N. ; Matějec, Vlastimil ; Mrázek, Jan ; Chomát, Miroslav ; Kašík, Ivan
This paper deals with the detection of aromatic hydrocarbons in air or water which is based on refractive-index changes of a silica xerogel detection layer applied on silica optical fiber. The fiber is excited by an inclined collimated beam. The sensitivity of the tetraethoxysilane- and methyltriethoxysilane- based xerogel layers to benzene and toluene in air and in liquid water are presented. The detection limits were about 500 and 5 ppm for air and water, respectively.
