Drebitková Malá, Alena
The dissertation analyses how to approach teaching of writing skills in Russian language at Czech secondary schools. In the theoretical part I define what a "writing skill" is. I focus on the linguistic, psycholinguistic and didactic aspects of the teaching of writing. I explain attitudes to writing skills in different teaching methods in history and nowadays. After that I set out the requirements for testing writing skills in some of the most common documents: Common European Framework for Languages, European Language Portfolio, international exams in Russian language ТРКИ (Тест русского языка как иностранного) or TORFL (Test of Russian as a Foreign Language) and the state final exam in Russian language at Czech secondary schools. In the practical part, I first analyse selected Czech and Russian textbooks for grammar schools to compare their approach towards teaching writing skills in native languages: Czech and Russian. Then I set out analysis of Czech textbooks used in the Czech Republic for teaching Russian, focusing in particular on the exercises used to teach writing. After that, I evaluate answers from two questionnaires that I gave to secondary school graduates and teachers of Russian. My goal was to understand the issues they face and any problems they experience in practice when learning...

Scenario trees in stochastic programming problems
Malá, Alena ; Kopa, Miloš (advisor) ; Branda, Martin (referee)
This thesis deals with multi-stage stochastic linear programming and its ap- plictions in the portfolio selection problem. It presents several models of invest- ment planning, the emphasis is on the basic model with transaction costs and risk adjusted model for every investment level. Random returns entering the above models are modelled by the scenario trees which are generated using the moment- matching method. The thesis presents the optimal investment strategy for each model. It then examines distance of optimal values of objective functions in de- pendence on the nested distance of these generated trees. All calculations were performed using Mathematica software version 9. 1
Multiobjective portfolio optimization
Malá, Alena ; Kopa, Miloš (advisor) ; Dupačová, Jitka (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to summarize three basic principles of solving multi-objective programming problems. We focus on three approaches: a linear combination of objective functions, ε-constrained approach and a goal programming. All these methods are subsequently applied to US data. We consider monthly excess returns of ten US representative portfolios based on individual stock market capitalization of equity that serve as basic assets. Our aim is to find the efficient portfolios. Next we investigate a structure of these portfolios and their mutual relationships. Graphic representation of efficient frontiers is also included in the thesis. All calculations were performed using Mathematica software version 8.
