Utilization of Financial Analysis as a Tool for Investment Decisions
Málek, Jiří ; Novák, Jaromír (referee) ; Ptáček, Roman (advisor)
This diploma thesis on the topic "Use of financial analysis as an instrument of investment decision-making" processes the financial evaluation of the economy and the effectiveness of selected investment decisions in the past years using methods of financial analysis. For this purpose, I chose the monitored period from 2012 to 2018. In the first part of the thesis, attention is paid to the evaluation of performance and financial sustainability in terms of implemented and planned investments of the theoretical base. The methods and analyzes used also include the methodology of their calculation. The second part deals with the individual indicators applied to Škoda Auto a.s., based in Mladá Boleslav a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. In addition, this section addresses the approach and decision making of the management of the company on investment projects that have already been planned or are planned in the near future, and recommendations are proposed for improving.
The Influence of the Prone Position on Systemic Hemodynamics in Spinal Surgery
Kukrálová, Lucie ; Dostálová, Vlasta (advisor) ; Málek, Jiří (referee) ; Kieslichová, Eva (referee)
1 Summary Hemodynamic monitoring is a fundamental part of perioperative care. This thesis deals with hemodynamic changes due to the prone position under physiological, awake state and under general anesthesia during spondylosurgical procedures and to assess the influence of the patient's body support. The next goal was to evaluate the effect of extended non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring on perioperative circulatory stability, used hemodynamic interventions, and the occurrence of postoperative complications. This work consists of two separate studies. In the study "Hemodynamic changes in prone position - a non-invasive physiological study" 12 healthy volunteers older than 18 years were included. Non-invasive hemodynamic measurement was initiated using ClearSight/EV 1000 system in supine position (S position). Cardiac index (CI), stroke volume index (SVI), stroke volume variation (SVV), systemic vascular resistance index (SVRI) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) were recorded. Following parameters were measured using ultrasound at predefined sites: expiratory area of v. cephalica (sVCe), v. saphena (sVSe), v. jugularis interna (sVJe), expiratory and inspiratory area (sVCIe a sVCIi), and maximum and minimum diameter (dVCImax a dVCImin) of v. cava inferior and index of colapsibility (VCI CI) were calculated....
Judicial review of expropriation decisions
Málek, Jan ; Kotounová, Jana (advisor) ; Sharp, Vladimír (referee)
Judicial review of expropriation decisions The thesis looks into the issue of judicial review of decisions passed by administrative authorities, namely the expropriation decision. The judicial review process for these decisions shows a highly unusual set-up as it falls under the jurisdiction of both administrative and civil courts. The purpose of the thesis is to highlight both the shortcomings of this concept of judicial review and the specific issues related to it. The thesis also aims to propose such a set-up of the judicial review process for expropriation decisions that eliminates these shortcomings as much as possible and which will be coherent with the current concept of review of decisions of administrative authorities as such. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the thesis consists of four parts. The first chapter deals with the very institute of expropriation decision as one of the decisions issued under expropriation proceedings. Attention is paid in particular to the form of the operative part of the decision. The decision contains two groups of operative parts, namely on expropriation and on compensation for expropriation. The decision coming under the first group can be challenged by filing an action against the decision of the administrative authority pursuant to Section...
SPn approximation to the radiative heat transport equation
Krupa, Tobiáš ; Souček, Ondřej (advisor) ; Málek, Josef (referee)
This thesis is dedicated to a problem of heat transport where radiation is taken into account. Models for such setting, although complicated, are very important for industrial purposes. We provide a derivation and explanation of the fundamental physical model for ra- diative heat transport. The resulting system of radiative transfer equations (RTE) is then approximated with so-called SPn equations. Here, we focus on asymptotically de- riving a simple set of SP1 equations. Special attention is given to Marsak-type boundary conditions which we formulate in a more precise form than other sources. Inspired by the float-glass forming process, we look into problems with multiple do- mains with different refractive indices. For such an arrangement, there is a need for transition conditions describing the behaviour of the solutions on the interface between two domains of interest. By following an analogous procedure as for the boundary con- ditions, we have managed to identify a natural set of transition conditions that allow for discontinuity in the intensity variable. To our best knowledge, these conditions have not been yet presented in the literature. Finally, we present several numerical experiments of solving these equations in Wol- fram Mathematica software and compare them with benchmark results. 1
Non-traditional methods of drug administration in anesthesiology and emergency medicine
Kurzová, Alice ; Málek, Jiří (advisor) ; Bláha, Jan (referee) ; Gabrhelík, Tomáš (referee)
1 SUMMARY Introduction The thesis is focused on the research of efficacy and side effects of non-traditional, i.e. nasal administration of oxytocin and nasal and intramuscular administration of remifentanil. Nasal administration has the advantage of being non-invasive and useful in situations with difficult vein access (young children, extensive burns, terrorist attacks and battlefields). The dissertation has two parts that are closely related: nasal, intramuscular and conjunctival administration of remifentanil, nasal and intramuscular administration of oxytocin. Remifentanil is an ultra-short- acting opioid that is registered for intravenous administration only. Its main advantage over other opioids is its rapid metabolism after intravenous administration and absent accumulation even after prolonged infusion. Remifentanil is the only opioid for which, with the exception of two papers, intranasal administration has not been described yet; data on intramuscular and conjunctival administration are completely lacking. Oxytocin is a hormone that is used therapeutically primarily for its peripheral effects in the uterus and breast during pregnancy. However, other central effects have also been observed, i.e. anxiolytic effect, reduction of social stress levels and increase in empathy. It can be useful in...
Mathematical Analysis of Selected Problems for Complex Fluids
Los, Tomáš ; Málek, Josef (advisor) ; Kreml, Ondřej (referee) ; Süli, Endré (referee)
We study long-time and large-data existence theory of selected recently developed fluid mechanics models suitable for describing the mechanical behavior of materials with complex microstructure. In the first part of this work we focus on the Bingham type mod- els for granular materials with the activation parameter (critical value for the magnitude of the stress) dependent on the internal pore pressure. Our motivation comes from re- cent research concerning the implicitly constituted materials and also from an interesting paper by Chupin and Mathé [Chupin, Mathé, 2016], where the existence of weak solu- tions to the given problem was proved only in two spatial dimensions. Here we consider slightly different model (than in [Chupin, Mathé]) that we are able to derive from the basic governing equations of the theory of mixtures and we extend the existence result to three spatial dimensions. In the second part of this work we are concerned with fast developing field of viscoelastic materials. We study long-time and large-data existence of viscoelastic rate-type fluid models of higher order as they represent the simplest models suitable for describing the mechanical behavior of viscoelastic materials with complex microstructure. We are not aware of any long-time and large-data existence results for such models....
Unidirectional flows for binary fluid mixtures
Púček, Jiří ; Málek, Josef (advisor) ; Tůma, Karel (referee)
In a recent work Málek a Souček (2021), the authors propose several classes of simple models suitable to describe flows of binary mixtures, such as bubbly liquids, emulsions, etc. The objective of the bachaler thesis is to investigate the potential of these model by their investigation in simple geometrical settings linked with the assumption that the admissible flows are isothermal and unidirectional. In addition we will compare our results with other models. 1

Legal regulation of insurance intermediaries activities
Málek, Jan ; Vybíral, Roman (advisor) ; Karfíková, Marie (referee)
of the thesis In this thesis I deal with a comprehensive view of the legal regulation of the activity of insurance intermediaries, including a look into the history, analysis of the current national and European legislation and the expected development of national regulations. Work has been divided into four chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the insurance industry as a specific economic sector. Here I define the concept of insurance, dealing with the history of the industry and briefly mention the existing legal regulations of insurance in the Czech Republic. At the end of the first chapter I analyze the various distribution networks in the insurance industry with reference to the inclusion of insurance intermediaries as the most important distribution channel. The second chapter is devoted to detailing the significance of insurance intermediaries and the nature of their activities. Similar to the first chapter, here is also a part briefly focused on a historical development of insurance intermediaries activities. A substantial part of this chapter is devoted to current legislation, of which the most important institutions are analyzed in separate sections. Gradually deal with the Insurance Intermediaries Act as a whole, individual categories of insurance intermediaries, the conditions of...
