Mladá, Kateřina ; Kalina, Kamil (advisor) ; Reichelová, Lenka (referee)
The bachelor thesis has these targets: (1) to demonstrate that the misuse of Suboxone also occurs in the Czech Republic; (2) to question the common myth that Suboxone cannot be applied in an i.v. form, and (3) to disclose some circumstances of Suboxone misuse ( e.g. if the i.v. application of Suboxone has any aversive effect; if the clients are able to prevent this kind of effect; to what change in the client's life the Suboxone use or misuse can lead , the availability of Suboxone in the black market, demand of this substance in the black market, etc.). The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical parts, and subsequent discussion and conclusion. The theoretic part presents essentials on substitution programmes, information on the substitution substance Suboxone, and the introduction of the treatment centre where I collected data for my thesis (specialized out-patient programme CADAS). References to the recent research studies on this topic are also mentioned. The practical part includes two case studies of the clients who both misuse Suboxone in an i.v. form, and subsequent comparison of those case studies based on the set criteria. Through the case studies and the comparison of them the determined research questions should have been answered. The discussion and the conclusion are oriented...

Sexual and partner relationships in the therapeutic community for drug addicts
Namyslovová, Michaela ; Kalina, Kamil (advisor) ; Dvořáček, Jiří (referee)
One of the "cardinal rules" in the therapeutic communities for drug addicts (TC's) is a ban of building a very close relationship, usually erotic or sexual, which is interpreted different ways (for instance as "a choice between the treatment and above standard relationship" in TC Podcestný mlýn). It's sanctioned individually in every particular TC. Violation of this rule is likely to occur from the beginning of gender-mixed groups in TCs for drug addicts. The aim of this paper is to describe how clients having experience with relationship in TC perceive the rule, of relationship non- establishment, what above mentioned rule means for them and whether and on what basis has changed their opinion during the treatment. The methods used were: semi-structured interview, my own notes, 1st rank reduction, text coloring, cluster and method of simple enumeration. Research group consisted of 8 clients and 3 psychotherapists of an anonymous TC. All respondents who agreed with the research participation were of legal age and have related experience with relationship in the TC. It was found that respondents understood the rule, and they are aware of the consequences for individual and the group in case of its breaking. To answer was more difficult question about its meaning, therefore another question was used....

Malá, Pavla ; Kalina, Kamil (advisor) ; Čablová, Lenka (referee)
The issue of psychiatric co-morbidity is a serious public health problem occurring more and more frequently in the treatment of addiction and bringing with it various complications and often premature termination of treatment. The scoring system with a fixed set regime is still being used as the main instrument for treatment of addicted clients on the most specialized departments of psychiatric hospitals, although the effectiveness of the scoring system has not yet been clinically verified. The aim of this pilot study is to demonstrate and verify of the individual cases of clients with different categories of dual diagnosis, how they perceive the balance of the sanctions and rewards and fair setting in the context of the scoring system. Other goals are to find out and verify what is the influence of the scoring system on the motivation to change the behavior and success of treatment, what weaknesses clients with dual diagnosis perceive in this system and how they represent the treatment system, which would make them more fit and motivated to change behavior. Further, this study seeks to establish whether difficulties and obstacles on the way to stand up and go through the scoring system are different for individual dual diagnoses. A qualitative approach is used in the research part of the thesis....
Development and maintenance of addictive behaviour in terms of psychoanalysis
Tomášková, Eva ; Kalina, Kamil (advisor) ; Hajný, Martin (referee)
In the area of addictive behaviour, psychoanalytic approaches are very often criticized or completely neglected. Nevertheless they could significantly contribute to the treatment of addictions, especially in its final stage. Their main contribution is in searching for origins and causes of the addiction. In the therapy they could help to reveal inner conflicts and traumas, and to facilitate their understanding and acceptance. The main aim of my thesis is to illustrate the contribution of psychoanalytic approaches in the treatment of addiction. Furthermore an effort is made to point out, that if the psychotherapy is enriched by psychoanalysis, and further criteria are fulfilled, the treatment can acquire a deeper meaning, and the probability of its efficiency increases. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part presents an overview of psychoanalytical theories of the origin and development of addiction. It describes some features of the addicted people from the psychoanalytical point of view and the part is completed by necessary critical evaluation. The empirical part contains a case study of a woman who is addicted to alcohol. On her case I try to illustrate the psychoanalytical views of on the rise and development of addictive behaviour. Data are obtained from...
Comparison of methamphetamine /opiate clientele in a low-threshold contact centre - a pilot study

This thesis is about clients who are in treatment in therapeutic communities for drug addicts and suffer with a mental illness alongside drug addiction. The theoretical part summarizes the definition and description of dual diagnosis, the prevalence of people with dual diagnosis and discusses the possibilities of therapeutic approaches to clients with these specific demands. Finally, attention is paid to the theory of self-medication for symptoms of mental illness through addictive substances which supports the theoretical model of addiction as a result of reactions to psychiatric illness. The research was carried out at the research group, which was formed by all clients currently in treatment in two therapeutic communities for drug addicts in July 2015. The research was conducted as a quantitative design through non-standardized questionnaire. This research shows that from the total number of respondents, 79% had a psychiatric diagnosis in addition to substance abuse. Most often these were methamphetamine users and multiple substance users. From psychiatric disorders were most strongly represented personality disorders, depressive disorders and disorders from psychotic spectrum. With respondents who reported substance abuse to suppress psychopathological symptoms occurred reduction of most of...
