Remote Control and Measurement with Linux
Ševcovic, Jiří ; Herrman, Tomáš (referee) ; Škarvada, Jaroslav (advisor)
The destination of this work was a creation of modular system for a remote control and measurement with Linux operation system. People use an I2C bus, connected to serial port of a computer. Aplication is made with C++ language to perfom a remote control of systems.Application communicates with web interface, which is controlled by user.
Secure PC Connection
Bednář, Jaroslav ; Herrman, Tomáš (referee) ; Kubek, Ján (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the concept and the implementation of RS-485 serial line and its connection to FITkits. The work describes the features and possibly usage of the line, the alternatives of interfacing it to FITkit and the description of the application which was developed for FITkit.
Digital Stopwatch with 2 Times
Šilon, Peter ; Škarvada, Jaroslav (referee) ; Herrman, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of my bachelor thesis is to suggest the appropriate connection of two starting and two stopping contacts to PC. The study is going to inform its readers about the opinions how to control the MS Windows ports. It concerns about the specific description of WinAPI functions as well as the solution for the direct accesion to the ports. Next chapters point at the issue of accurate time measurement on the application level and at the familiarisation with the proces of creation of the multithreading applications in MS Windows. The second part of bachelor thesis focus on extensional implementation of stopwatches based on microcontroller.
Function Generator with FITkit
Bartoš, Pavel ; Drábek, Vladimír (referee) ; Herrman, Tomáš (advisor)
This work deals with generation and detection of square, sine, triangle and saw-tooth waveforms using D/A converter of FITkit. Includes description of PS/2 communications protocol and description of LCD display.
Light Newspaper
Mičulka, Lukáš ; Bidlo, Michal (referee) ; Herrman, Tomáš (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis is focused on connection design of information board with LED diode matrix and creation of firmware for 8-bit microcontroller from 8051 family, which aim is to control the matrix and communicate with PC over RS232 interface. Marginally there is mentioned the application for PC, which can handle with text imaging and changing data in memory of microcotroller. Within this thesis there was completed and tested the working prototype of this appliance.
Videocamera Based Security Guard for OS Linux
Valeš, Jan ; Herrman, Tomáš (referee) ; Škarvada, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the implementation of security guard software for OS Linux using an appropriate web camera. The main part of this application is process running in background using V4L application interface to communicate with web cam. Because this program uses dynamically loaded plug-ins for motion detection, it is very simple to change detection algorithm just by modifying configuration file. Application data can be saved as images or video files. Client application was created for online monitoring by user. It communicates with security guard software over network by TCP/IP protocol. Implemented application layer protocol allows simple client authentication and data encryption.
Design and Implementation of Jabber2Go System
Drlík, Radovan ; Herrman, Tomáš (referee) ; Škarvada, Jaroslav (advisor)
For contemporary society it is ever more important to be in permanent contact therefore instant messaging is constantly more used. Object of this thesis is to design and to realize instant messaging client for communication over Jabber system. Client demands of minimal equipment requirements for user of the system. Thesis denotes about general characteristics of instant messaging and more detailed definition of Jabber and Jabber protocol. Thesis gives also attention to analysis of existing Jabber clients, and design and realisation of newly-made client which communicates with user via web browser.
Cellular Automaton in Evolutionary Process
Hejč, Michal ; Herrman, Tomáš (referee) ; Bidlo, Michal (advisor)
The aim of this master's theses it to focuse on the usage of genetic algorithms in combination with a technique of biologically inspired development in cellular automata. The principles of the proposed method is described. The main part of this work deals with the design of combinational logic circuits. The genetic algorithm is utilized to design a nonuniform one-dimensional cellular automaton (in particular, the local transition functions) which serves as a circuit generator. Experiments have been conducted to design of basic types of combinational circuits and polymorphic circuits. Finally, the results are presented and compared with the results obtained in the previous work in which a uniform cellular automaton was applied.
