According to the research, the demographic nature of the Spartan season...
Blood pressure estimation using smartphone
Šíma, Jan ; Němcová, Andrea
This paper presents an experimental cuff-less measurementof systolic (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP)using smartphone. A photoplethysmographic signal (PPG) measuredby a smartphone camera is used to estimate blood pressure(BP). This paper contains comparison of several machinelearning (ML) methods for BP estimation. Filtering the PPGsignal with a band-pass filter (0.5-12 Hz) followed by featureextraction and using Random Forest (RF) methods separatelyor as a weak regressor in adaptive boosting (AdaBoost) or bootstrapaggregating (Boosting) reached the best results accordingto Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation(AAMI) and British Hypertension Society (BHS) standardsamong all regression ML models. The mean absolute error(MAE) and standard deviation (SD) of Bagging model were4.532±3.760 mmHg for SBP and 2.738±3.032 mmHg for DBP(AAMI). This result meets the criteria of the AAMI standard.

Chocholouš, Vojtěch ; Šíma, Jan (advisor) ; Krause, Veronika (referee)
Title: Dynamic competitive balance of the highest football leagues in selected European countries. Objectives: The main objective of the thesis is to identify the dynamic competitive balance in the first and second leagues in selected European countries and to outline their development trend. The first sub-objective of the thesis is to compare the dynamic competitive balance of the investigated competitions with each other. The second sub-objective of the thesis is to compare the results of dynamic competitive balance with those obtained by the static method of competitive balance. Methods: This thesis calculates dynamic competiitve balance using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The results show that the first leagues are usually less balanced than the second highest leagues. The result also shows that the first leagues reports an increasing tendency of competitive imbalance. The only exception is the top Polish league. On the other hand, most of the second leagues reports a decreasing tendency of competitive imbalance. The exceptions are the second Spanish and Polish leagues. The Portuguese second league appears to be the most evenly balanced competition, followed by the Spanish second league. The least balanced leagues are the First Dutch League and the First English League....
Blood pressure estimation using smartphone
Šíma, Jan ; Vítek, Martin (referee) ; Němcová, Andrea (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes an experimental cuffless measurement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP and DBP) using only a smartphone. Photoplethysmographic signal (PPG), which was measured by the smartphone camera and phonocardiographic signal (PCG), which was captured by an external microphone in the mitral valve area, were used to estimate blood pressure (BP). The BP estimate was divided into 2 parts. The first was the regression estimation of BP and comparison of several machine learning (MLR) and convolutional neural network (CNN) methods according to the use of the color channel to extract PPG from the video. The second objective was the classification of BP into the category of normotension or hypertension. The PPG signal was filtered for extraction using a bandpass filter with finite impulse response (FIR) (0,5–5 Hz) followed by feature extraction. For estimation of vascular transit time (VTT) and cardiac ejection time (ET), two main cardiac echoes S1 and S2 were detected in the PCG signal. Furthermore, raw sections of PPG signals (RGB video channels) and PCG signals of different time lengths were used for the CNN models. Among the regression approaches, the most accurate algorithm was the support vector regression (SVR) method, which achieved acceptable error according to the standards of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and the British Hypertension Society (BHS) in experimental work. The mean absolute error (MAE) was determined to be 7.64±6.87 mmHg for SBP and 5.07±4.88 mmHg for DBP. The red channel was evaluated as the most appropriate color channel for extracting PPG from the video recordings for regression estimation. For classification, the AdaBoost algorithm with weak random forest (RF) classifiers proved to be the most reliable. It achieved an F1 score of almost 80 % on the PPG features extracted from the combination of red and green color channels of the video.
UV-photochemical generation of volatile species of tellurium and other transition metals
Jeníková, Eva ; Hraníček, Jakub (advisor) ; Šíma, Jan (referee) ; Kanický, Viktor (referee)
This dissertation thesis is focused on UV-photochemical generation of volatile species of tellurium, ruthenium, rhenium and iridium coupled to methods of atomic spectrometry. In the first part, attention was paid to the optimization of parameters of UV-photochemical generation of volatile tellurium species and its application for speciation analysis of Te(IV) and Te(VI) in water samples. UV-photochemical generation was carried out in a UV-photoreactor, which consisted of a low-pressure mercury lamp wrapped with a polytetrafluoroethylene reaction coil that served as a reactor. Atomic absorption spectrometry with a continuum source of radiation and high resolution and atomization in a miniature diffusion flame were used to optimize the conditions of generation, which included the composition of the reaction medium, irradiation time and the addition of transition metals as modifiers. In order to achieve a higher sensitivity of determination, the generator was coupled to a triple quadrupole inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer. Since efficient UV-photochemical generation of volatile species was achieved only from Te(IV), with no response from Te(VI), the feasibility of this technique for simple "non-chromatographic" speciation analysis was tested and a method for determination of Te(IV) and...

Do, Thanh Tung ; Šíma, Jan (advisor) ; Ruda, Tomáš (referee)
Title: Changes in the size of market values of foreign players in selected European competitions. Objectives: The changes in the market values of foreign players will be observed in ten consecutive seasons starting from 2011/12. The top football competitions from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Poland and Hungary will be examined. Based on the results obtained, the best transfer station, or environment in which a player can prove his qualities and then move up in his career, will be determined. Method: The unit difference of all players in thousands of euros was calculated. Then the average changes of all players in each season were calculated for each country separately. The same procedure was repeated in percentages to determine the real change. For a better idea, both these values were graphically recorded. Results: The values achieved by the players in this competition were many times higher than in the other competitions. Compared to the Czech Republic on average across seasons, the result in unit terms is more than six times higher. In terms of percentage change across seasons, the measured values are more than three times higher. Poland recorded the second largest unit average growth across seasons. However, the Czech Republic is better in percentage growth across seasons. For the...

Author: Adam Štěpán Title: Business plan - competition analysis Objectives: The main objective of the bachelor thesis is to establish a strategy that will serve as the basis for the establishment of a massage centre in Liberec in the context of competition analysis. The massage centre will be newly established and therefore it is important to thoroughly analyse the competitive environment in the massage industry in Liberec. Methods: Qualitative research methods are used in this work. First there was a literature search dealing with the business plan and competition analysis, followed by a semi-structured interview. The semi-structured interview was validated by an expert. The study was carried out in Liberec on a sample of two massage centres. Porter's model of five competing forces was used to measure the competitive environment, which was modified for the massage service environment. The centres SAREMA Liberec s.r.o. and SPORT PARK MEDICAL were analyzed in detail. The results of the survey were processed into Porter's model. Based on these results, a strategy for the possible establishment of a massage centre was drawn up. Results: The investigation shows that there is competition in the massage industry in Liberec, but individual massage centres do not perceive it as a threat. The competition...
