Biochemical identification of Enterobacteriaceae ? Development and comparison of methods.

Bachelor's thesis Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Course of study: medical laboratory technician Objective of the thesis: The topic of the thesis is to describe and simultaneously compare the most important biochemical methods used for diagnosis of Enterobacteriaceae. The emphasis is put mainly on the development and progress in the field of microbiology. Key findings: Biochemical tests are now performed mainly automatically. The advantages of the automated form of diagnosis are simplicity, speed, increased sensitivity and accuracy, and a reduced need for sample quantity. The main disadvantages are incomplete database of microorganisms and the inability to test sensitivity to all antibiotics. Conclusion: Despite the far reaching development of molecular biological methods, biochemical tests still have an important role in the identification of Enterobacteriaceae.

Study of sewerage and wastewater disposal municipality Větřní

This thesis deals with possible options for solving drainage in the village Větřní - Frymburk st. and School st. and adjacent villages Lužná, Dolní Němče and Dobrné. The first part describes the current state of sanitation of Větřní and its adjacent area. It also includes assessment of the condition of the current sewer system in the village Větřní, which is connected with some newly proposed sewerages. The following chapter deals with the technical description of the possible variants of the drainage sites including economic evaluation. Then there is a recommendation of choices of variant and evaluation of overall investment and operating costs. In conclusion of the chapter there are summarized advantages and disadvantages of variants of drainage.

The proposal for the monitoring of groundwater resources

The bachelor thesis follows up the analysis of current state of monitoring groundwater sources – wells, in terms of their quantitative usage and monitoring of water quality. The first part is focused on general information about usage of groundwater in the Czech Republic and in foreign countries too, ways of technical solution of groundwater captation and the description of them. In the second part there is made up the proposed model of monitoring underground water source, the way and frequency of observation of proposed parameters and the resulting demands on technical equipment of collecting objects. Then the implementation of the proposal on two specific areas follows. Finally at the end of this thesis there are described appropriate proposed procuration.

Songwriter´s protest message in the period of normalization

The topic of the thesis is the issue of the status of songwriter Jaromír Nohavica and his work in the period of normalization. The contemporary circumstances and the context of the origin of his songs are hidden for the majority of people (especially for the younger generation). The basic question of the thesis is how far is the period of normalization in relation to the political system reflected in the songwriter's personal life and lyrics of his songs. The work is methodologically based on quantitative and qualitative content analysis and analysis of the period of normalization. The quantitative and qualitative content analysis is very unusual for political scinece.

Climate changes - a view of conservatism and environmentalism

The topic of this thesis is the issue of global warming in terms of political ideology - conservatism and environmentalism.. For comparison, I chose two representatives - Vaclav Klaus and Al Gore. The aim of this work is to compare ideologically conditioned responses and their political implications. This is illustrated by the example of two personalities of world politics representing both different attitudes toward the issue of global warming and climate change and different ideologies - Václav Klaus and Al Gore. The work is methodologically based on an analysis of ideology of conservatism and environmentalism and on an analysis of empirical knowledge regarding global warming.
