Bubeníková, Zuzana ; Rusín, Tomáš (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis is aimed at the strategic plan for new use of a plot owned by the town of Kopřivnice, which formerly accomodated exterior handball courts with adjacent facilities and a restaurant, the so-called “Házeňák”. The design follows up the pre-diploma project, which analyses the building theory of socialist urban planning, precisely regarding the zoned city and its influence on the form of the town Kopřivnice as well as the life of its inhabitants. The master planning of the choosen plot relies on the alternation of free urban space and buildings of adequate scale, which respects the existing restaurant building. The typology of the designed buildings combines administration, commercial ground floor and residential floors with the access to roof terraces. The detail of the choosen development strategy is demonstrated on the design of an apartment building which implements the “Baugruppe” construction model consisting of twelve model households. The individual requirements of these households are reflected in the separate layouts of the apartments. The materiality of this apartment building reacts to the observation of the surrounding development and an unmistakeable character of the town. The design of the facade also takes into account the individuality of the households and dynamically reacts to the life in the new neighborhood.

The subject of the thesis is the design of a residential building of the Baugruppe type. These are small-sized apartments that are affordable for young families as well as individuals. The conceptual design is based on the unconventional principle of maisonette apartments in our region. It aims to evoke the experience of living in a single family home, with significantly lower financial expenses associated with its maintenance. The thesis builds upon analyses and knowledge acquired in the pre-thesis work completed in the previous semester.

The master's thesis is a proposal for an urban-architectural study on the territory of the former handball court in Kopřivnica. The work is a continuation of the pre-master's thesis, in which I searched for and investigated the ideal form of housing in Kopřivnice. Corporate housing is a response to the problem of unaffordable housing and socio-economic conditions in the city. The search for the ideal of corporate housing resulted in the concept of low intensive development with the creation of spaces between buildings, flowing from public, through semi-public and semi-private to private. This idea creates spaces for spending time within the community and spaces for relaxation surrounded by edible plants. The proposal emphasizes the positive impact of housing on landowners. The transition from a busier environment to a more intimate one is also reflected in the design of the gallery 's apartment building, where the gallery is the place of frequent interaction with the neighbors. Private exterior space is represented by loggias equipped with sliding shading panels. In addition to shade and privacy, perforated panels also create the effect of a living facade, as their position changes depending on the time of day or season. The design of the apartment building is designed as a modular prefabricated construction. In the study, I present 14 modular apartments, from which the investor can construct an apartment building according to his own requirements.

The design of the urban and architectural study of the former handball field aims to serve as a potential solution to the issue of sustainable and affordable housing. The first part of the proposal focuses on the urban study of the former handball field in Kopřivnice. The area has transformed from a significant city locality into a parking lot over the past 20 years. The urban design responds to the adjacent Kopřivnička River and the proximity of the city center. The area thus becomes a gateway – into the city upstream along the Kopřivnička River, and out of the city toward nature. Among the aims of the proposal was to attract new residents to Kopřivnice, which led to the design of three buildings that reflect this need. The area includes a building with starter apartments, a women’s shelter for women and children who have been victims of domestic violence, and finally, a multifunctional building that supports the city’s economy while reflecting the needs of existing Kopřivnice residents. The second part of the proposal presents the architectural study of the women’s shelter. The concept and idea are based on reflections on in-depth interviews with social workers from various shelters. The building is designed to comply with legal regulations, the requirements of staff, and the safety of its residents. The design part of the urban and architectural study is based on insights gained from the theoretical and analytical parts.

The conceptual-architectural design represents the restoration of the brownfield of wine cellars in Brno- Zábrdovice. It reflects on the possible use of the area, following the direction of the city’s philosophy in the improvement of dysfunctional, abandoned and neglected so-called vague places. It deals with the solution of the renewal of public space, the trend of urban interventions and brings to the owner a direct way of opening up the area of the currently unused space above the wine cellars. The restoration proposal responds to the historical context of the area, the continuity of the environment. Its main role is to bring an attractive public space to the site, with the added value of opening up the wine cellars and the opportunity to create a natural setting for the site, and bringing the proverbial genius loci to the site. The second part of the conceptual-architectural design provides detailed procedures, use and discussion of the functional program of the different parts of the proposal. The analytical-volumetric reflection formed the basis for this, which resulted in the site program. By organizing programmes, the ideas of the functioning of the functional fillings and their deployment in synergy with each other, a primary space was created with the possibilities of their year-round, but also seasonal use.

Design „micro-urbanism“ in designated area. Aim of this work is to find suitable development strategy of open city block. Bachelor‘s thesis adresses design of poly-functional building, including town hall and housing in city Brno. The main theme is to find maximal, yet optimal solution to site, which functions as parking space. The design tries to complete corner of designated city block, which will be part of future „south“ neighbourhood. The townhall and housing should function in harmony, which means the building will „live“ all-day long. The site is located in the node of historic centre and new planned neighbourhood. Between the site and neighbouring building will be parking garage tucked under the ground. Also there will be multifunction hall undergound center of the site. Design of the volume is complex and consists of pedestal and 3 towers. These towers volumes pixelate into the pedestal and open into the courtyard. My aim was to build on the street buildings and the horizontal line adjacent materials . On the corner there is a breach of negative corner that serves as an entrance to the building . It also serves as a public space with the possibility of a summer garden cafe and the space in the theatre . The space between buildings incurred to complete the perforated screen. Perforation ensures sufficient intimacy of interior space, but also allows contact with the public space . The screen also brings a staircase whose arms linking the two spaces . The idea is to divide buildings into more fuel, which would protect the inner space formed from the noise outward and through the neighborhood . Increasing the inner atrium of one floor is created intimate garden space with a water feature . Following the arch are the expression of individual floors with residential units made available galleries located on the inner sides . This element would revitalize the internal space as possible meeting place . The house provides recovery through the streets multifunctional parter . In the street adjacent to the old dance studio is located a cafe . Both are open to the street space through the glazing. Cafe uses of public space , created a negative corner , for use in the summer. In the street adjacent to Bratislava are located commercial space for rent . Spaces are partially shielded front wall expanded metal , which, however, can be summed up to one side. The material located on Street Stará has a regular grid of windows underlined storing facing bricks. Layout and structure reveal the residential use of the building . The material is placed on the street Bratislavská is the southern facade covered with a screen of expanded metal. Předstěn completely closes and hides the layout of the residential area , but it zceluje with part of the pit , which is functionally pulled up to 2.NP
Revitalization Program of Floral Garden in Kromeriz
Bartošová, Klára ; Nový, Alois (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The flower garden was designed in a spirit of a rennaisance vision of the world (an attitude to the universe, the nature and a human being) as an imaginary drama taking place in a scene of walls and objects. The original idea was to enter the garden from the centre of a collonade. The front garden – an orangery, a dutch garden and a menagerie – had a function of a supplementary area. This area didn´t depend on a strict garden order, it was possible to enter each part of the front garden from the main garden. In the 18th century, the main entrance was relocated to a newly built court of honour atrium situated in the front garden. The original purpose of the garden composition was restraint by this change. Also the front garden was converted throughout the years. In the course of years all three components of the front garden were trilaterally interconnected and an axe going through all these three parts was created. Partial axes of the main garden composition started to penetrate into the front garden. A revitalisation of the front garden offers the possibility to direct visitors to the original garden entrance. This would allow the visitors to see the original designer´s intension. The design of the front garden is a synthesis of its authentic idea and its evolution during centuries. It is considered as one of its stages, of those preceding as well as of those following. This stage respects the dominating flower garden as well as the court of honour. Furthermore, this stage presents all functions of the area.
