The energy system and the energy policy of the Czech Republic in the international context

The economic level of the individual states, the community and the global economy depends on reliable activity and the results of individual economic sectors and subsectors, including all participants in this process. From the entire spectrum of economic sectors the energy sector has been selected as the most important and critical infrastructure in the Czech Republic, the EU, and in the world. The selected energy sector subdivides into other subsectors: electricity, natural gas and oil. The work deals with the analysis of the above mentioned sectors, their fundamentals, stocks, consumption, equipment, resources, entities, price developments and potential risks. The aim of the work is to analyse the state of the energy resources in the Czech Republic, the EU, and in the world, including current and potential threats, to which the key infrastructures have to face.
Foreign trade between Russian Federation and Slovak Republic

In my Bachelor's thesis I am focusing on foreign trade between the Russian Federation and the Slovak Republic. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first chapter, contains the most important macroeconomic indicators of the both countries. The second and the third chapter independently deal with foreign trade of the countries concerned. Moreover, these sections discuss the territorial and commodity structure. The last chapter concentrates on the European Union foreign trade policy and its impacts on trade with the countries outside the European Union. This part of the thesis includes the detailed description of foreign trade relationships between Russia and Slovakia as well as the Slovak pro-export policy. The aim of this work is to point out how foreign trade between these two countries have changed in the last several years, but in particular after Slovakia's accession to the European Union, and then during and after the financial crisis.
Analysis of long-term development of the exchange rate policy of the Czech Republic

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyze a long-term development of the exchange rate policy of the Czech Republic. The first part considers definitions of exchange rate regimes and its application, advantages, risks and role of the central bank which controls the exchange rate policy. The next three parts are dealing with the history of the Czechoslovak crown and then of the Czech crown until the year 2004, when Czech Republic joined the European Union. The last part considers planned entry of the Czech Republic in the euro area. The level of preparedness for entry is considered by success in compliance with the Maastricht criteria.
Evaluation of export promotional activities of selected Czech institutions on foreign markets

The thesis focuses on Czech export, its importance for Czech economy and mainly on the way it is endorsed by Czech export promotional institutions. The main aim is on institutions such as CzechTrade, CzechInvest, Czech Export Bank, Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. A big part of the thesis focuses on The Export Strategy of the Czech Republic 2012 -- 2020 and evaluates the implementation of its objectives. Apart from that it sums up reasons of companies for entrance to foreign markets, export possibilities of the Czech Republic given its membership in EU and OECD Consensus regulations.
The impact of globalization on the strategy of Škoda Auto, plc

My bachelor thesis deals with the phenomenon of globalization and its impact on Škoda Auto, plc. The aim of my thesis is to evaluate the globalization trend of Škoda Auto reflected in its strategy and determine its further development on the most important markets for automobile. The first part of the thesis explains basic terms of globalization and its development in time. I also state the causes and consequences in the context of automobile industry and the changes in its arrangement. The practical part analyzes Škoda Autos activities and focuses on the most important milestones in the history of the brand. The final part of my thesis deals with the strategy of Škoda Auto in globalization period.
The influence of foreign direct investment on the development of competitiveness of the Czech economy

The aim of this work is to prove or refute the impact of FDI on the competitiveness of the Czech Republic compared to its primary competitors, the countries of the European Union and the OECD. The work is divided into two sections. The theoretical section lays the necessary groundwork and explains the importance of the observed indicators and the impact of FDI on the host economy. The practical section is further divided into two subsections dedicated to an econometric analysis of the selected quantitative and qualitative indicators respectively. Their dependence on FDI is assessed using linear regression model. The results of this work should serve as an argument for the increase or limitation of the promotion of FDI inflows into the Czech Republic.
Position of the Czech Republic in the international competitiveness rankings

Competitiveness at the international level is researched mainly by World Economic Forum and International Institute for Management Development. According to their results, international competitiveness rankings are created annually. This work uses the most current results of those two aforementioned institutions and analyzes the competitiveness of the Czech Republic whose data are not only presented independently but also in comparison with Germany and Slovakia. The aim is to determinate strengths and weaknesses of the Czech Republic in the international field.
Development of International Trade in Selected Products of the Textile Industry and Its Future

This thesis is focused on development of textile industry and international trade with silk and cotton of the first decade of the 21st century. First chapter contains overview of the main theories of international trade from classical economics to monetary economics. In the second chapter we will familiarize ourselves with the trade history on the silk routes, stretching all the way from China to the Mediterranean Sea. Next chapters are dedicated to the analysis. In the third chapter it is analysis of the textile industry and international trade with silk and cotton throughout 2000--2011. The fourth chapter analyzes products of textile industry in terms group 65 of the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC).
Business and cultural specifics of Greece

Everyone, who wants to do trade with Greek traders, should find out, which are local business and cultural specifics. Habits are different in every state, therefore everyone should be well prepared, before the business begins, that any faux pas would happen. Business habits proceed from history, therefore I also mentioned it in my bachelor's thesis. Nevertheless, the trade also relates to state of economy of the land, therefore I analyzed nowadays political and economic situation in Greece. Negotiations of Greek businessmen are different from negotiations of Czech businessmen, but I did not find any crucial differences while comparing, which could prevent the Czech businessmen from concluding an agreement in Greece.
Business and Cultural Specialties of South Africa

This Bachelor thesis should primarily be used as a guide for potential businessmen planning a long-term stay in order to do business in South Africa. It aims to provide the information about the possibilities of doing business for Czech, as well as other foreign investors, with a focus on the cultures of South Africa. The comprehensive understanding of cultural diversity is one of the key factors for setting up a successful business. When working on this thesis I tried to incorporate information from various sources, together with my personal experience after visiting the country. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first discusses the general characteristics of South Africa, the second part is dedicated to localized cultural studies, and the third section analyses international trade with a focus on experiences of Czech expatriates living in South Africa.
