Stanovení C-14 ve vzorcích listů z okolí jaderných elektráren
Světlík, Ivo ; Tomeš, Marek ; Brabcová, Kateřina ; Michálek, V. ; Tomášková, Lenka
Carbon-14 is a radionuclide with global occurrence and partly natural origin. This radionuclide is a pure beta emitter with half-live 5730 years. The greatest present artificial source of radiocarbon are effluents from nuclear energy facilities, even though it is minor contribution in comparison with natural production. From all radionuclides released by Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) with Light Water Pressurized Reactor (LWPR) during normal operation, radiocarbon is responsible for major collective effective dose. During 2002 and 2003 samples of biota were collected in NPPs Temelín and Dukovany vicinity (both NPPs have only LWPR) and in reference background localities. Received results are compared and discussed in the point of view of NPPs influences on C-14 amount in the environment of close vicinity
Determination of 14C in point samples of stack air from Nuclear Power Plants
Světlík, Ivo ; Michálek, V. ; Tomášková, Lenka ; Tomeš, Marek ; Brabcová, Kateřina
During normal operation of nuclear power plants (NPP), with pressured light water reactors, is C-14 (relatively) responsible for major contribution of effective dose from all released radionuclides. In this paper is described a new method of C-14 forms determination in short-term (point) sampled stack air from NPPs. Item time series of C-14 activities is reported and compared with results of determinations performed by laboratories of NPP Temelín utilizing monthly cumulated samples

Příspěvek k dozimetrii a mikrodozimetrii na palubách kosmických lodí
Spurný, František
Onboard spacecraft radiation fields are composed mostly high energy charged particles with rather important component of heavier particles with high linear energy transfer (LET). Their biological effects are still not fully known, the studies of dosimetric and microdosimetric studies can therefore contribute significantly to deeper knowledge of effects mentioned. We started such studies many years ago. In this contribution results obtained onboard spacecraft during several last years are presented
Odezva stopového LET spektrometru k vysokoenergetickým protonům
Jadrníčková, Iva ; Spurný, František
Risk from ionizing radiation depend both on the radiation quantity and the radiation quality. The radiation quality is characterized by the methods and the procedures of microdosimetry. Basic experimental microdosimetry approach is based on the use of tissue equivalent proportional counters. However, in some cases their use can be compromised, for example at high dose rates and/or in the presence of very intense low LET component in the radiation field to be characterized. For such purposes, the microdosimetry method based on a polyallyldiglycolcarbonate (PADC) chemically etched track-etch detectors (TED) was developed
