Mediating the topic of specific learning and behavior disorders through literature for younger school-aged children

The thesis deals with the issue of conveying the topic of specific learning and behavioural disorders to pupils at school through literature for children of younger school age. It deals with the description of specific learning and behavioural disorders, especially in relation to the school environment, and the characteristics of selected titles of contemporary literature for children and young people, focused on the topic of specific learning and behavioural disorders. The aim of this paper is to design lessons with books that would introduce students to these topics, to carry out the implementation of these lessons in a selected second year primary school and to evaluate their impact on students' understanding of the subject. All lessons are based on the three-phase model of learning and the methods RWCT recommended for working with books. According to the timetable, the lessons are taught in five weeks. Each lesson works with one selected book, including Můj brácha Tornádo by Petra Štarková, The Pravidla skutečných ninjů by Petra Štarková, Největší nemehlo pod sluncem by Petra Štarková, Mise dyslexie by Julie McNeil et al. and Nikdo nejde z kola ven by Hana Zobačová.
