Physical Competence as an Assumption for Participation in Nature Studies Excursions

The theoretical part of this thesis summarizes the so far findings within the field of nature studies excursions; most specifically, it deals with their planning and process as well as the preparation for them, regarding both the excursion leader and its participants. Further on, the research part is grounded in the description of basic physical movement skills and abilities. The research itself was based on a questionnaire poll, investigating the level of skills and amount of experience directly connected with a stay in the countryside; subsequently, a testing of selected physical movement abilities and swimming skills was performed on a group of ZŠ Čelákovice 6th and 7th grade pupils.
