Comparation of Educational System and Methods of Teaching Biology in France and the Czech Republic

The aim of the thesis is to compare the educational systems and methods of teaching biology and earth sciences in France and the Czech Republic. The thesis includes historical development of education systems in both of chosen European countries. First part of this work describes the structures of education systems in each level of education. Within the structure of education systems I focus also on educational programs and thematic areas of biology and earth sciences for each grade of secondary schools (students of age 16 to 19). Furthermore, the work presents comparison of two teaching and education methods from each of the various systems. One part of the comparison is discussing about objectives and educational programs. In the conclusion, teachers manuals and students textbooks are compared, as one means of achieving educational objectives. This extra work contains results of educational research. The research was based on a comparative method and the chosen measurement technic was didactic test. For research were asked students from different levels. The aim of the research was to compare the general biology and earth sciences background knowledge of secondary school students in France and the Czech Republic.
