Quality of nursing care for intubated mechanically ventilated patients

This bachelor work deals with the quality of nursing care for intubated mechanically ventilated patients. The theoretical part of the work is divided into three parts. The first part is concentrated on the quality of nursing care and definitions, characteristics and dimensions of the quality are described here. The second part applies to the tracheal intubation and performance aids for tracheal intubation, working procedure, intubation complication and care for airways can be found here. The last part deals with mechanical lung ventilation (aims of ventilation, monitoring and care for intubated mechanically ventilated patients). The empiric part is focused on the quantitative research investigation by means of a questionnaire method whose main target is to compare the quality of nursing care for intubated mechanically ventilated patients at anaesthesiology and resuscitation depart-ments at local hospitals and at The Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation Clinic of Faculty Hospital in Hradec Kralove. Another aim of the investigation is to determine the applied aids and theoretical knowledge of nursing staff looking after intubated patients.
