Skřivanová, Eliška ; Kytnarová, Jitka (advisor) ; Weidenthalerová, Edita (referee)
Currently childhood obesity has reached epidemiological levels and can be considered one of the world's biggest problems. The probability of an obese child becoming an obese adult is dangerously high. These children are also more likely to develop health risks. The mechanism of development of obesity is conditioned by a number of factors. These are most often genetic factors, whilst their environment also plays a large role. In this case the influence of the family and the preferred lifestyle, which plays a significant part in the development of obesity, may be a factor. Early treatment and detection is important to prevent future issues with weight and serious health risks. However in order for obesity to be treated, it must first be diagnosed, the so-called diagnosis of childhood obesity. School meals in Czech Republic are considered to be one of the most advanced in Europe. It is not about providing a sufficiently strict diet, it also pays attention to variety, balance of dishes and dining culture. School meals must comply with the legislation, comply with financial limits and follow nutritional standards, respectively a consumer basket that sets out the required quantity of ten food commodities per pupil a day and these have to be adhered to within one month. The environment of prevention...

ŠPAČKOVÁ, Žaneta
The topic of this thesis is ``Feeding children and adolescents in children´s diagnostic institutions, children´s homes, children´s homes with school, educational institutions and the Center of Educational Care in the Hradec Králové region. Childhood and adolescence are specific periods in which each individual undergoes significant physical, mental and social development. Therefore, the research part of my thesis is focused on the survey of the quality of food served to children and adolescents who are almost entirely dependent on meals prepared in canteens of children´s diagnostic institutions and institutional care and preventive educational care facilities. The aim of this thesis was to find out whether the variety of dishes served in the selected facilities corresponds to current nutrition recommendations and if the consumer basket meets requirements of the Decree No 107/2005 Coll., as amended by Decree No. 107/2008 Coll. The research was conducted by the qualitative method. To collect data on the investigated facilities the technique of data file analysis was used. The research set was composed of children´s diagnostic institutions, children´s homes, children´s homes with school, educational institutions and the Center of Educational Care in the Hradec Králové region. At random six facilities were selected. They provided me with data such as menues, issue slips and consumer baskets in the months of March, April, October and November in 2008 The obtained data were summarized in tables and graphs which provide information on the composition of meals served, on the consumer baskets composition, on ways to cover the total consumption of fruits and vegetables, the ratio in which plant and animal fats are served, the amount of sausages, smoked products and haslet in the group of meat. The management of selected food facilities will be informed about the outcomes and possible shortcomings. In the case of any identified shortcomings, changes in the diet composition or food consumption may be recommended by the Regional Hygiene station in Hradec Králové.

ČERSTVÁ, Michaela
Abstract Influence of commercials advertisement on eating habits of children The bachelor work summarizes basic information on healthy nourishment and the influence of the advertisement on teenage children{\crq}s feeding. Theoretical part is concentrated on basic information on rational nutrition, advertising and its impact on school children. Rational nutrition is characterized with proportional food intake, which is composed ideally from the point of view of quantity and quality. Regular and various food represents optimum not only for school children. It is possible to avoid many health troubles by following conventions of healthy nourishment during your life. The advertisement assaults children all around. Regarding food, children attach to the advertisement and an opinion of their peers. Yet the advertisement mostly promotes unhealthy fat foodstuff. According to investigations, children are different from adults in the fact that they don{\crq}t refuse the advertisement, they even like to watch it, they also better remember it and enjoy it. Kids make a difference between reality and fiction already from the age of four or five, from the age of seven they understand very well what the advertisement means and that its purpose is promoting a product or some brand name. In a practical part there are presented results of the investigation aimed at the problems mentioned above. The investigative part realized by questionaires is devoted to the type of feeding of school children and to the impact of the advertisement on them. The investigation confirms that the influence of the advertisement on children{\crq}s choice of food is very high. Most of school children prefer products known from the advertisements. I have managed to approve that school children shop according to the advertisements which they like to watch and that they prefer boarding in KFC or McDonald´s. Comparing answers from the questionaires, it is obvious that most school children prefer boarding at home to other kinds of boarding. My investigation also shows that children consume minimum fruit and vegetable, on the other hand they consume plenty of sweets. Total results evidence that the impact of the advertisement on feeing of children is huge and lead up to a cogitation about adjustment of the advertisements promoting unhealthy and fat food.
