Associations and their legal regulation

This rigorous thesis primarily deals with the legal regulation of associations under the Civil Code effective from January 1, 2014, with a brief focus on the history of association law in the Czech, respectively Austrian legal environment, and in more detail on the transformation of civic associations into associations. This thesis addresses the possibilities of how an association can be founded, the rights and obligations associated with membership in an association and discusses the bodies of an association, especially the statutory body, the supreme body, the control commission and the arbitration commission. The individual chapters usually describe valid legal regulation and then analyse specific problematic issues, in which available opinions of legal doctrine and the observations of the author of this thesis are mentioned. This thesis is not only theoretical, but also gives examples from practice and describes the best possible ways of solving particular problems, thus is aiming also for readers outside the professional legal community.

Establishing a Nonprofit Organisation Providing Sports Activities with the Focus on Law and Organizational Structure

Title: Establishment of a Non-Profit Organization Providing Sports Activities with Focus on Law and Organizational Structure Targets: The target of the work is to create a guide describing how to proceed with establishment of a non-profit organization providing sport activities from the legal point of view. Another target of the work is a creation or determination of an organizational structure for sport oriented non-profit organization with a membership of up to 100 members. Methods of research: The following methods were used to create a business plan: literature research, document analysis, semi-structured interview with an attorney-at- law relating to issues of establishment of a non-profit organization, semi-structured interview with a bookkeeper of AK Zlín relating to non-profit organization financing and tax issues. Results: The result of the work is a guide describing particular steps of a process relating to establishment of a non-profit organization. The guide includes necessary documentation for establishment of a sport club as a registered association. Within the work particular financial and other sources are listed with which the non-profit organization might dispose including subsidy programmes eligible for sport clubs with a legal form of a registered association. Comparison of sport clubs in Radotin and Zbraslav

Title: Comparison of sport clubs in Radotin and Zbraslav Targets: This thesis aims at producing an overview of the sport associations in Prague's district no. 16, namely in Radotin and Zbraslav. The thesis is to compare the differences in ensuring and carrying on sports activities within the association sphere in the given areas. Methods: For the purposes of the thesis the following methods have been used, namely a structured nonstandard interview, descriptive analysis and comparison. Results: It follows from the thesis that the associations based in Radotin do, indeed, function better that those situated in Zbraslav. That is especially true as regards their price policy, financing by way of subsidies, coaching stuff, organising of sports events as well as the cooperation with the public. On the contrary, Zbraslav associations have developed better cooperation with schools. Sport clubs in Zbraslav are more focused only on children and youth. In contrast, the Radotín sports clubs are trying to involve in its work all ages. For the purpose of presenting the sports overview we have created systematisation of sports facilities, database of contacts of executive directors of associations and comparative table of certain Radotin and Zbraslav sport associations.
