Some Results of Simulations of 3D Backward Facing Step
Louda, Petr ; Kozel, K. ; Příhoda, Jaromír
The paper deals with numerical simulation of 3D incompressible flow over backward facing step. The RANS technique is used with an explicit algebraic Reynolds stress turbulence model. The numerical solution is achieved by implicit finite volume method. The results are compared with measurement.
Some remarks to the flow in radial inflow turbine cascades of very low aspect ratio
Dvořák, Rudolf
Paper completes previous papers of the same author in suggesting methods of calculating secondary flow losses. It also suggests modification of the Reynolds number enabling correlation of data in low aspect ratio turbine cascades
Secondary flow effects on flow separation in closed, curved and relatively narrow channels
Dvořák, Rudolf
Secondary flow effects on flow separation in closed, curved and relatively narrow channels are discussed on the basis of CFD simulation
Flow in a radial inflow turbine rotor cascade with a blade tip gap
Dvořák, Rudolf ; Červenka, Bystrik
Using numerical simulation (software NUMECA) flow in a radial inflow turbine rotor cascade with a 10% tip gap has been solved. Effects of secondary flows and flow through the tip gap on the flow structure has been investigated at 4 boundary layer thicknesses in the oncoming stream (0, 10%, 30%, 50% of the blade length). Greater boundary layer thickness decreases the aerodynamic load as well as effect of the tip gap, and secondary flows of the 2nd kind.
