Concept cancer transition in the context of selected theoretical approaches related to the process of morbidity and mortality in recent decades: Case study for Czechia Abstract The aim of the diploma thesis is to introduce the cancer transition concept and to contextualize it in relation to other theoretical concepts that concentrate on change in the structure of mortality by causes of death. Furthermore, in the context of cancer transition, the current state of mortality of neoplasms is illustrated reflecting its connection to infection in the population of Czechia, and its development is covered over the 1994-2018 period. The concept of cancer transition is based on the idea that as the society develops, the proportion of deaths by infection-related neoplasms decreases and the proportion of deaths caused by non-infection-related neoplasms increases. The concept thus essentially follows Omran's theory of the epidemiological transition. However, the concept of cancer transition has, so far, been theoretically used only to a relatively limited extend in literature and has usually been described rather indirectly. The theory of population and estimation of the stationary state

This diploma thesis focuses on the estimating of the time of possible future stationary state of population. Different theories of population are discussed and reviewed. The calorie model of food supply and demand is taken as the basis of the thesis. The research offers the estimated calorie model, the calculations of time of possible future stationary state and possible scenarios of future changes in the model.

The Implications of Family Planning Policies on the Growth of Chinese Economy

Apart from rapid economic growth, China has also experienced significant demographic changes over the past few decades. The People's Republic of China's family planning policies led to a sharp drop in the fertility rate. This MS Thesis aims to assess the possible consequences of the family planning policies on future growth of Chinese economy. The theoretical part defines population policy, assess the connections between population growth and economic growth and deals with the development of population theory over the years. The analytical part describes the family planning policy in China, its principles and instruments. Next it identifies the possible consequences of the demographic changes caused by the drop in fertility rate. The last part of the thesis focuses on two economically most severe consequences - population ageing and shrinking working age population - and evaluates its implications on future growth of Chinese economy.

Analýza nástrojů propopulační politiky

Většina moderních států si uvědomuje nutnost zachování určité výše plodnosti, která jí tak zabezpečí přírůstek nové generace, zachování národní identity a dané sociální úrovně. Proto je směrována rodinám či párům smýšlejících o založení rodiny určitá podpora, která ohodnocuje jejich rodičovské role a částečně kompenzuje náklady, které s narozením potomka, jako neaktivního člena rodiny, vznikají. Práce vypovídá o nástrojích představujících přísun finančních prostředků rodinám smýšlejících o založení či rozšíření rodiny.První kapitola se zaobírá teorií populační politiky a charakteristice nástrojů využívaných v zemích OECD. Dále jsou tyto nástroje charakterizovány pro Českou republiku, přičemž práce vrcholí propojením jednotlivých systémů.
