New Forms of Tourism in Spain with Focus on Czech Clients

Spain currently represents one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Tourism is its important economic sector that is strongly reflected in the Spanish economy. Therefore an apparent interest could be noticed in maintain Spain competitive in the field of tourism not only in Mediterranean destinations but Europe-wide or world-wide as well. To understand the current state of tourism in this country it is neccessary to result from historical context and understand the current problems and their causes well by thus. Spanish competent institutions do realise this and new products and forms of tourism are being conswquently expanded now. Another impulse is a change of motivation of participants, which could be designated as being different in the 21st century. Consequently the traditional forms of tourism are insufficient to meet their needs. Especially the mainland of Spain is diverse and the great conditions for creating new forms of tourism ? cultural, rural, sports, business ? could be found there. For Czech clients Spain represents very popular destination for sea holidays. The topic of the bachelor thesis is dark tourism as one of the specific (new) forms of tourism. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part includes a definition of dark tourism, states some of its well known attractions and outlines the history and present state of this phenomenon. Some different categorizations of dark tourism are described in the work, especially the categorization by supply. It is based on a theoretical concept of the dark tourism spectrum, which explains why some attractions are "darker" than others. The work also describes possible motivation to the participation of dark tourism activities and states perception of visit to the dark destinations including its social importance. The practical part is focused on finding the Czech Republic citizen's interest in this form of tourism and its potential development assessment.
Tourism as a Tool of Development and Poverty Alleviation in the Third World

The thesis tries to describe the complexity of tourism in the Third World. The topic can be only understood in context of the most recent trends of globalization, uneven economic growth and development, sustainability and issues concerning the environment. The thesis examines the tourism-poverty nexus in the form of assessing positive benefits and negative impacts of tourism on the poor residents. Special attention is devoted to new tourism forms with sustainable principles which respond to the needs of local communities and contribute to the poverty alleviation. Chosen case studies illustrate possible benefits of tourism for a particular region and its inhabitants.
