Obese adult people vs healthy lifestyle

This bachelor thesis is focusing on the topic of Adult obesity versus healthy lifestyle. The theoretical section explores the problematics of obesity. Specifically, its history, types, causes, prevention, illnesses it can cause as well as treatments of this condition. Additionally, attention was also given to the topics of a healthy lifestyle, healthy diet, and individual macronutrients. The practical part includes three objectives. The first goal was to summarize the literary review of obesity and healthy lifestyle of the adult population. The second aim was to compare the dietary composition of obese individuals and individuals with physiological weight. The last objective was to present a comparison of the eating habits of obese respondents and respondents with physiological weight. Subsequently, two research questions were stated. The first question: 'What are the differences in the dietary composition of obese individuals and individuals with physiological BMI?' and the second question: 'How physically active are obese individuals when compared to individuals with physiological weight?' The research sample was composed of ten obese individuals and ten individuals with physiological weight. Both groups were asked to complete an anonymous questionnaire. The answers were used to determine the physical activity and eating habits of both groups. To compare the diets of both groups, the Nutriservis profi software was utilised, analysing weekly diets provided by the respondents. The average values of nutrients consumed per week were compared to examine the differences between the research groups. According to the findings, most obese respondents are not eating periodically and exercise only occasionally. Conversely, individuals with physiological weight are eating regularly in the majority of cases and exercise 2-3 times a week. In respect to the dietary compositions, the obese individuals reported a higher average intake of protein and overall higher intake of energy than individuals with physiological weight.

Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University, Czech Republic Introduction: Hormonal contraception is a broadly used and very reliable birth control method. Nonetheless, it is not entirely risk-free. This thesis deals with the awareness of those risks in women who are currently using hormonal contraception or have ever used it before. Aim of the thesis: The main aim was to determine the extent of the users' awareness of hormonal contraception and its risks, undesirable side effects and contraindications, as well as their source of information. Furthermore, the awareness of the environmental impact, the reasons for using hormonal contraception and user satisfaction were examined. Methodology: The research was carried out by means of online questionnaires, which were spread among current or former users of hormonal contraception regardless of age, educational background or place of residence. 148 completed questionnaires were gathered and the data which were obtained were statistically evaluated. Using of Restraints in the Geriatrics

In consideration of the demographic trends of our population, it is necessary to deal with the old age problems and problems of geriatric patients. The controversial topic of restraints, especially sensitive in association with old frail people, is closely related. The issue of restraints is defined by law. However, the ethical aspects of their application should also be considered. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the topic of old age and serious problems of this period of life, including mental disorders. It introduces the field of geriatrics and geriatric patients. In further chapters, this thesis discusses the restraints and ethical issues related to their use. By using qualitative research methods, the empirical part of this thesis surveys the attitudes of healthcare professionals towards this issue. It discusses specific restraints and the reasons for which they are used. The results show that the most important value of healthcare professionals is health and the most respected ethical principle is the principle of beneficence. Is Swedish snus a preventive substitute for cigarettes?

This is a review paper on the usage of smokeless tobacco, snus. A narrative view of published papers and other date sources (for example, internet-base information) on snus use, use of other tobacco products, and changes in health status in Sweden and Norway. The snus consumption have increased substantially during the recent decades and today more than every fifth male adult uses snus daily in Norway and Sweden. Some of the publications made from snus are written in Scandinavia, and therefore some of the papers are directly translated from Scandinavian into English. It must be emphasized that this is not a study on snus, rather a review paper. This text will shortly be about the dramatic increase in snus usage among adults in Scandinavia, mainly Sweden and Norway the last decade and their short and longterm effects. In the recent times the tobacco industry has been active in developing and marketing new products that might be perceived as less harmful to health than typical cigarettes. Raphidiopsis raciborskii - the main producer of cylindrospermopsin

Raphidiopsis raciborskii is a globally widespread bloom producing cyanobacteria that has been observed more frequently in temperate freshwater locations in previous twenty years, which is a considerable expansion regarding its original occurrence in tropical regions. The ability to produce health-threatening toxins, cylindrospermopsin (CYN) and saxitoxin, places this species to the centre of scientific research. The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to sum up the current knowledge on Raphidiopsis raciborskii, concerning mainly its ecology and phytogeography, and also to provide information about cyanotoxin cylindrospermopsin, which can be produced by R. raciborskii and also by other cyanobacteria species. Regarding cylindrospermopsin, I mainly focused on the chemical structure of the molecule, its biosynthesis, toxicity, methods of CYN detection and removal from drinking water.

More than two thirds of respondents (68%) are concerned about the health of their loved ones (32% definitely), almost two fifths (39%) are concerned about their own health. Due to coronavirus, the incomes of more than a third of households decreased (11% significantly), three-fifths have the same incomes. The increase in income was reported by 5% of households.

More than three quarters of respondents are concerned about the health of their loved ones (37% definitely) and the deterioration of the economic situation in the Czech Republic (31% definitely). A quarter of respondents are concerned about a supply disruption, less than a third about insufficient hospital capacity. Less than half of the respondents are worried about their own health, people in senior age are more worried, and people with poorer health are significantly more concerned.
