Design of a weir with a movable barrier structure on the Dyje river

This bachelor thesis deals with a variant design of a movable damming structure on the Dyje River south of the town of Breclav (at river kilometre 19,609), which would enable flooding of the northern part of the Soutok polder. The thesis first describes the flooding issues, types of flood control structures and a description of the area of interest. Next, three variations of the dam structure are proposed: a fixed Jambor sill, a combination of Jambor sill with a flap gate, and a boulder slip. For each variant a hydrotechnical assessment and evaluation is carried out from different points of view. Based on the evaluation, the boulder slip was selected as the most suitable option. This option is the most efficient in terms of economics, technical, operational and also aesthetics. The boulder slide would still be able to provide inflow to the northern part of the Soutok polder while not disturbing the flow conditions in the stream and minimally interfering with the habitat.
Proposal of the water divider on the river Romže

The diploma thesis deals with the design of the water divider near Prostějov on the Romže River. Divider flows will be transferred into the Hloučela River. Within the thesis, hydraulic calculations of the side spillway were solved according to Bürgel, Pavlosky, Engels, Musterle, Kunštátský, Hager and energy solution methods in the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and by using the HEC-RAS program as well. The calculations were compared to each other. Geometry of the relief water divider on the Romže River and the related buildings was designed based on the performed calculations. The required function of the relief object is guaranteed by manipulation of designed sluice gate. The study includes the text part with the calculations and the drawing part documenting the implementation of the designed measures.
Gated weir design

The diploma thesis deals with the design of a new weir structure in Valašské Meziříčí on the Rožnovská Bečva river at chainage km 3,025. In the first part of thesis, a overview of the considered weir constructions and calculation equations to be used in the practical part are summarized. In the second part, the work firstly deals with the localization and description of the object of interest and then continues with the conceptual proposal of several variants of the weir structure and then with selection of most suitable solution of the new structure. For the selected variants, hydrotechnical calculations were done, which also include a partial calculation of the stability of the proposed structure. At the end of the work there is a technical description of the aims proposed objects and an evaluation of the set goals of the work.
