Warfare in the Old Testament

The core tasks of the diploma thesis were to familiarize the reader with the biblical themes as biblical wars from historical and cultural perspective, clarify the issue of the divine struggles and embedding in cultural and ethical context. Good News of the Bible was confronted with non biblical written sources, mostly written records of Moabities, Assyrians, Egyptians, Sumerians and people of Ugarit. The diploma thesis was focused primarily on the period of the Kingdom of Israel. Also were discussed the battles of Israelis before entering the Land of Canaan and the split the Kingdom of Israel. Primarily it has been worked with the Deuteronomy corpus that is characteristic by its synchronic and diachronic approach. The reader was made familiar with the issue of divine wars and the extermination of cursed cities. The herald function of Deuteronomy corpus and the possible nonrealistic information sources were also clarified. The author is inclined to the opinion Sa-Moon Kang and consideres holy wars to the end of the Kingdom period. With the emergence of secular government and deviation from the Lord for rulers was the priority to resolve property disputes. The diploma work concentrates on the complete development and construction of artillery produced by Skoda factory in Plzen from the beginning of weapon production, development of artillery turrets, artillery fortress guns, naval guns to field guns. The work appropriately combines three main parts: economical development of Skoda factory, the development of fortress and field artillery material and bibliography of a lot of important persons from Skoda factory. The work was divided into two important parts: from the beginning of artillery production at Skoda factory to the end of twenties of the twentieth century and the second part started at the beginning of thirties to the end of the second World War, when there were developed a lot of modern artillery constructions for the Czechoslovak army and German Wehrmacht. This work was is based on the work with primary archive research at Factory Skoda archive at Plzen, Central military archive in Praha and on the work with secondary literature. The topic of this bachelor work is a medieval fort called Horní which is located in Staré Kestřany, district Písek. One of the most inportant aims of this work is to summarize archeological knowledge connected with this fort and to report on accessible archeological stuff originated from the well of Horní Kestřany fort. The aim of this work is to give evidence of the living standards in this locality throught the agency of this stuff. This attention was also dedicated to medieval fort in general.
Dendrochronology of representative autochtonnous tree species on environmental and temporal gradients

This thesis is focused on application methods of dendrochronology on various ecological and historical aspects of forest communities, human management practices, and historical utilization of wood. Studies revealed growth responses of trees in various type of forest vegetation represented by spruce forest, alder carr and alluvial forests and involved autochthonous tree species with all morphological types of wood. These works demonstrated necessity of dynamic evolving of the regional chronologies for the Czech Republic.

Dissertation headed {\clqq}Architecture of rural manors in the region of Táborsko`` dwell on matter of historical progress of landed gentry castles and forts architecture placed in the region of Táborsko. Paper presents conditions of chosen buildings in 2007-2008. Document does not present all existing buildings of this type. Sample is however selected to represent wide spectrum of architectural styles as from Gothic style, over Renaissance to historicist styles of 19th century. Author comes out both from information stated in the various specialized and touristic publications and from the outcomes of his own survey.
