Staff stress in a specific youth home; its causes and subsequent solutions

The bachelor thesis deals with the stress of educators at a particular youth home and the mechanisms of coping with the stress of these educators. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis describes the concept of stress, stress management mechanisms, psychohygiene, pedagogy and youth home. The research brings the testimonies and experiences of one tutor and two tutoresses. The aim of the research is to point out the psychological demands of this profession and to inform the public about it. It is a qualitative pilot study in which the data were obtained by using unstructured interviews and processed by thematic analysis.

Phenomenology of Humor in Romantic Relationships

The objective of this thesis is to introduce the topic of humor in the context of romantic relationships from the perspective of both partners separately. It examines the forms, manifestations and functions of humor in the relationship and observes whether the production and perception of humor of the partners changes over time. The theoretical part analyzes the conceptual definition of humor in terms of its functions, aims, styles, focus and the participants in the communication process. Furthermore, the thesis discusses the topic of romantic relationships, presents theoretical models of their formation and stages, describes factors influencing relationship cohesion, and reflects on couple conflicts and the communication strategies that constitute them. The empirical part of the thesis presents qualitative research focusing on the phenomenology of humor in six heterosexual romantic relationships with 12 respondents. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews and the subsequent analysis was developed using principles of grounded theory method. The research results show that humor between partners stands on two pillars - dynamic and static - which determine its potential and intention. This bachelor?s thesis will focus on issues living with adolescents and adults with incurable diseases such as diabetes mellitus is and frequently used defense mechanisms, which teens and adults during the process of adaptation to his illness, whether consciously or unconsciously use. The theoretical part will be dedicate to the description of diabetes mellitus, its manifestations, and division basic rules and objectives for the successful treatment does?t restrict the quality of life with this disease. Further part will be discussed and mechanisms of adaptation theory, which uses the diabetic acquainted with the disease, getting used to, or at times when he can?t cope with illness and acts as a stressor, worsening glycemic control. The practical part will be realized qualitative way through interviews, which will be examined most commonly used adaptive defense mechanisms used by teens and adults to cope with their diseases and conditions associated with it.
