Problems of drum kit players from the perspective of physiotherapy
KOŠNEROVÁ, Barbora
The bachelor's thesis is dealing with the players of the drum set, primarily musculoskeletal disorders that bothers them. Because all musculoskeletal disorders couldn't fit in this thesis, the most important ones were chosen. The most problematic part of a body was chosen with help from a questionnaire using a pain assessment. Then, all the musculoskeletal disorders related to this part of a body were analyzed. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is dealing with drum set, techniques of playing the drum set, kinesiology, the most common musculoskeletal disorders and their prevention. The practical part is done by form of mixed research. The quantitative element is a questionnaire to which 250 probands answered. The questionnaire was posted for three months - from August to November and on Facebook groups for drummers. The following research includes case studies of three probands selected from the questionnaire. Each proband underwent six therapies over a period of three weeks. At the same time, in these three weeks, they did the same exercise unit and were educated about ergonomics while playing. An initial examination was done during the first therapy, and an exit examination was performed during the last one. It is evident from the results of the questionnaire that the most problematic part of body from the examined group is the low back. That is why the rest of the research was focused on it. At follow-up research, there was an improvement in low back pain in all probands. It can therefore be stated that compensatory exercises, stretching and following the ergonomics of the seat and setting the drum set are important for drummers. The results of this thesis could be used as an educational material for drummers and drum teachers.
Monitoring the effect of physiotherapy from the view of a patient with discopathy using Oswestry disability index Subtitle: By means of Robin McKenzie method
Šrytr, Martin ; Šímová, Alena (advisor) ; Leško, Juraj (referee)
This thesis is focused on the treatment of chronic lumbar back pain using Robin McKenzie method as a therapeutic approach. The theoretical part deals with the physiology of the spine, its pathophysiology and complications related to that. It also presents the McKenzie method, its fundamentals and clinical use. It also describes the Oswestry disability index, which was chosen as a subjective tool for evaluating the effectiveness of therapies from the patient's perspective. The practical part aims to answer the question whether the McKenzie method is a suitable tool for influencing chronic back pain. To answer this question a qualitative research in the form of case studies was made. The key role for assessing the effect of therapy was played by intensity of pain, which was evaluated by the Oswestry questionnaire, dynamics of the spine and neurological symptoms. The results, which were concluded during therapies, argue in favour of the Robin McKenzie method, which is a suitable therapeutic approach to influence chronic lumbar back pain. Physiotherapy with golf players having vertebrogenic disorders
Lagatorová, Sendi ; Jalovcová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Pánek, David (referee)
Title: Physiotherapy with golf players having vertebrogenic disorders Objectives: The goal of the work is to find out and analyze, from selected foreign studies, the causes of the development of the most common pathologies in the lumbar area of the spine in adults, professionals and amateurs and based on the evaluation of the studies suggest appropriate physiotherapeutic procedures to be used as a prevention against low back pain (further LBP). Methods: The work is structured as a research, which has been created on the basis of an analysis of relevant sources. The literature, printed and electronic monographs, textbooks and specialized periodical were obtained from bibliographical databases, library catalogues and the Internet. The work contains foreign studies from USA, Canada, England and Australia. The studies were obtained from specialized medical databases: PubMed, PEDro, EBSCO. Results: The main cause of the development of LBP in golf players is the full golf swing, especially the modern type of swing. The following pathologies mainly develop in the lumbar area of the spine within the golf players: hypertonus paravertebral muscles, prolapses of intervertebral disc, fatigue vertebrae fracture and artrophaty of facet joints. In the prevention of LBP we use physiotherapeutic processes based on...
Issues of the motion apparatus injuries among golf players

Title: Issues of the motion apparatus injuries among golf players Objectives: The goal of the work is to find out the most common health problems among golf players and possible preventative measures against their formation. Methods: The work is structured as a research, which has been created on the basis of an analysis of relevant sources. The literature, printed and electronic monographs and periodical were obtained from library catalogues and the Internet. The foreign studies were obtained from databases PubMed and SPORTDiscus. Results: The most common vertebrogenic difficulty among both amateur and professional golf players is low back pain (LBP). It appears more often among men than women. Specific issues are the overload of the paravertebral muscles, occurrence of the osteophytes and degenerative changes in the area of the facet joints and intervertebral disc. Other health problems among golf players are inflammation of the rotator cuff tendons, posterior glenohumeral subluxation, acromioclavicular disfunction, shoulder joint arthritis, stress fracture of the ribs, epicondylitis, and in the area of the wrist and arm of the golf players occur especially fractures, subluxation of the joints and overload of the tendons (especially adductors, flexors and extensors). Almost all the studies...
The case study of physiotherapeutical treatment of a pacient with diagnoses of Vertebrogenic pain syndrome of lumbar spine
Dvořák, Jan ; Novotná, Irena (advisor) ; Biskup, Šimon (referee)
Title: The case study of physiotherapeutical treatment of a pacient with diagnoses of Vertebrogenic pain syndrome of lumbar spine. Objectives: The aim of this bachelor thesis is to teach theoretical information related to vertebrogenic pain syndrome. A summary of appropriate therapeutic methods and approaches that can compensate for the patient's health and alleviate pain. And the subsequent treatment of casuistic physiotherapeutic care of a patient with diagnosed vertebrogenic pain syndrome. Methods: The bachelor thesis was elaborated on the basis of graduation of continuous professional practice at the Faculty Hospital Královské Vinohrady in the range from 21st January 2019 to 15th February 2019. The first part of the bachelor thesis, is the general part, is comprehensively theoretical knowledge regarding vertebrogenic pain syndrome. The second, special part is a case study of physiotherapeutic care of a patient with vertebrogenic pain syndrome. The case study summarizes the input and output examinations and the course of therapies. Results: The first part of the work creates a comprehensive summary of vertebrogenic pain syndrome with radicular syndrome L4. It also offers a range of possible therapeutic approaches. The second part of the thesis contains the procedure and content of therapeutic...
