Gender Analysis of the characters of the Homeric Hymn to Demeter

The subject of this master's thesis is gender and archetypal analysis of the characters in the Homeric Hymn to Demeter. The first part of the thesis consists of methodologies and theoretical concepts used in the subsequent analysis section of the thesis. Feminist theories are the core of this thesis. The main focus is placed on archetypal analysis and feminist spirituality. The second part of the thesis focuses on the analysis of the main characters of the story. Emphasis is placed primarily on the power dynamics, the relationships and ties between the characters, as well as on the analysis of the archetypes and the symbolism in the myth. The Cult of the Mother Goddesses (Dao Mau) in Vietnam (with a focus on South Vietnam)

This MA thesis deals with the topic of the cult of Mother Goddesses in Vietnam with special reference to South Vietnam. The subject is discussed from the point of view of cultural anthropology and special attention is paid to some specific aspects, which differentiate this popular belief from other religions. The cult of Mother Goddesses is characterised in greater detail on the basis of certain hypotheses and is viewed through the prism of various ethnologically oriented paradigms. The first part of the work describes the development of this cult, its Vietnamese specifics and its position in the context of the local religious milieu. Furthermore, the work discusses the characters of the individual Mother Goddesses and the collected theoretical knowledge is compared with the results of empirical research. On the background of the example of Mother Goddess Bà Chúa Xứ, the work elucidates certain topics, which are related to the cult of Mother Goddesses, but are considerably differentiated regionally. It is therefore necessary to present these aspects by way of concrete examples and to see them in the cultural-historical context. The Goddess phenomenon in feminine spirituality - gender analysis of interviews

Diploma thesis deals with gender analysis of semi-structured interviews depicting the experience of women who have attended women's spirituals workshops. The theoretical part presents an essentialistic and constructivist approach to sexuality, deals with ecofeminism and spirituality that does not correspond to traditional religious systems, and presents concepts of the goddess. The practical part represents how the participiants of the research assume their femininity, embodiment, sexuality and spirituality. It also deals with the aspect of power and meaning of the spirituals workshops for women.

Beautiful Goddess: Contemporary Feminine Spirituality in the example of the female tantric groups

This thesis elaborates the results of the research I carried out wtihin the year 2009 in a paid course of female tantric initiation. The theme of the thesis was inspired by my previous interest in the Goddess movement. As this movement is not yet concretized in the Czech republic, I have chosen participating in a closed women's group which is very close to it due to a specific combination of religion, philosophy and psychology. My goal was to find out what form the women's spirituality has in the Czech environment and what kind of women are drawn to it. While the first part of the thesis deals with the universal characteristics of the current eclectic spirituality generally described as the New Age movement, the second part is devoted to the research itself. I come to the conclusion that the symbol of the Goddess, the key idea of the thesis, is not perceived only as a religious concept but also as a medium by means of which women define their needs and problems resulting from their femininity. By this particular case, I advert to the very psychotherapeutic dimension of women's spirituality.
