Exercise of parental responsibility

This bachelor's thesis deals with the execution of parental responsibility and mainly the description of the Cochem model, which is closely related to this execution. It aims to describe and analyse the execution of parental responsibility and details related to this issue. Above all, describe the basic relationships between parents and children in connection with the execution of parental responsibility, parental responsibility as such and possible resolution of conflicts, which includes a description of the Cochem practice. The thesis is divided into two parts, namely the theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part consists of the definition of basic concepts that relate to the issue of parental responsibility. The next chapter consists of a description of parental responsibility to the child and discusses its implementation in cases where parents live together and not. Furthermore, the theoretical part deals with the resolution of parental conflicts in court and out of court. The final part of the theoretic definition concerns the Cochem method, mainly the official German definition, and next, the description of this practice in the Czech Republic. There is a comparison of both applications of Cochem practice. Furthermore, the work provides an insight into the pros and cons of the issue and the results in possible proposals and measures to improve the model in the Czech Republic. The practical part of the work focused on summarizing and evaluating information concerning the use of Cochem practice obtained from a questionnaire survey of Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children employees. This information is further analysed and provides answers to the research questions which are discussed at the end.
Motivational factors of foster parents

Foster care is currently a topic that arouses certain controversy in society, which often stems from ignorance of this type of alternative family care. In the diploma thesis, with the help of the analysis, the domestic system of substitute family care was comprehensively described with a focus on foster care. This system was subsequently compared with foreign systems. The work also deals with the identification of the main motivational factors that are essential for the performance of foster care. To find out important information about the motivational factors of foster care, the method of a questionnaire survey was used, which was conducted with foster parents and also with persons without experience with foster care. The questionnaire survey with foster parents showed that the main motivating factor for foster parents is selfless help for children in institutional care. The questionnaire survey with people without experience with foster care showed that their motivation for foster care would be stimulated by helping children in institutional care and efforts to provide family facilities for such children. Reasons for placing children into children's homes from their parents point of view

This thesis puts a goal to find out opinions of parents of children placed into institutional care. We are interested in reasons for withdrawal of children from their care and for placement of children to institutional care or into foster care. In the introduction of the theoretical part there is mentioned history of care for orphaned or deferred children and history of development of theory of attachment. In the next part there is paid attention to developmental psychology with respect to emotions and factors shaping physical and especially psychical child's development. The theory of attachment and psychic deprivation is closely related with this issue and they are described in the next parts of this thesis. With respect to chosen issue the next part discusses the essential statutory regulations, especially Act No. 359/ 1999 Coll. as amended about activity of the authority child protection, then Act No. 109/2002 Coll. as amended about the performance of institutional education or protection education and other related acts. Curator for youth is then discussed in a separate chapter, which sets out the legislation with which it operates. It is it also describes his job description, including cooperation in criminal matters and youth cooperation with other agencies and organizations. It also presents a risk group of clients. The third chapter deals with the criminal responsibility of young people, together with the possibilities of measures imposed to young offenders. The last chapter is a practical part of this work, which includes the main research questions, process and method data obtained and subsequently the results of the findings.
