Specifics of clients on social beds in medical facilities
BAŠTOVÁ, Lucie
The bachelor's thesis focuses on the specifics of clients on social beds in medical facilities. The aim of the work is to find out the specifics of clients on social beds in medical facilities. The work consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to the definition of health and social care, the characteristics of the medical social worker and his position in the interprofessional team, and finally, it specifies social beds in medical facilities. The practical part is devoted to the research of the specifics of clients on social beds in medical facilities. In order to achieve a comprehensive view, two research groups were chosen: in the first case, it was the clients of social beds, and in the second case, it was the social workers of these departments. The research design was conceived using a qualitative research strategy, the semi-structured interview technique was chosen for data collection. Data analysis was performed using open coding and categorizations were subsequently created. The results were processed into diagrams with a more detailed description. Research has shown that the main specificity of clients of social beds is that they are most often former patients of medical beds. Due to their health condition, they have reduced self-sufficiency and depend on the care of another person, making returning to their natural environment difficult, and often even impossible. Nevertheless, most clients wish to return to their home environment, but at the same time they have submitted applications for social residential services. The clients of social beds use activation as a means to meet other clients and to relax. Positive relationships between clients and family members prevail.

The problematics of curatorship for children and youth.
KOLÍN, Daniel
My bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of curatorship for children and youth. The goal of my work is to find out what are the main limits of cooperation between the curator for children and youth and collaborating organizations in the Český Krumlov district. The curator for children and youth is a specialized expert in the field of social and legal protection of children, whose task is to prevent the emergence and spread of socially undesirable phenomena among children and youth. Its work consists of providing social counseling and taking measures to alleviate or eliminate problems such as poor school attendance or alcohol and drug use. For the research part of my work, a qualitative type of research was used, which took place through a semi-structured interview, in the form of questioning. In the first part of my research, all curators for children and youth from OSPOD who work in the Český Krumlov district were selected as communication partners. The second part developed from the first part and includes employees from collaborating organizations, which were mentioned by the curators in the first part, as the organizations with which they operate most often. Subsequently, all data were processed using the open coding technique. It emerged from the results of the research part that the given subjects do not perceive any fundamental limits in their cooperation and they value cooperation as high quality one. However even so, they identified some limits to work with for the best quality result. The limits mainly include communication, low number of personal meetings, low capacity of some organizations, driving distance, mobility, different opinions, time availability and openness to cooperation. This bachelor's thesis can serve as a learning resource for curators for children and youth and cooperating organizations to improve the quality of their cooperation and at the same time to eliminate shortcomings in this cooperation.
Social Work Students' Perception of the Role of a Social Worker in Substitute Family Care
KOPEČNÁ, Eliška
Substitute family care focuses on children who cannot grow up with their biological parents and need to be provided with an alternative form of family background. There are forms of substitute family care for this purpose, which are: adoption, foster care, temporary foster care, guardianship with personal care and entrusting the child to the care of another person. The system of foster family care is undergoing or is planned to undergo changes as part of the forthcoming amendment to the Act on Social and Legal Protection of Children. In my bachelor thesis I deal with the issue of substitute family care, in which I focus on how students of social work at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice perceive the role of the social worker in foster family care. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and research parts. In the theoretical part I define the concept of foster family care, then I present the basic legal regulation of this issue, I list and define the different forms of foster family care, and finally I define the social worker and describe his role in foster family care, whether it is a social worker in the OSPOD or in the accompanying organization. When compiling the research part, a quantitative research strategy was used and a questionnaire survey method was chosen, which was implemented using my own structured questionnaire. Two hypotheses for further evaluation of the results were set within the research. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out how social work students perceive the role of the social worker in substitute family care.

Addressing the sexuality of people with disabilities from the perspective of social workers
WOLFOVÁ, Natálie Michala
This bachelor's thesis explores the topic of sexuality by persons with disabilities. The main aim of this thesis was to describe the experience that social workers have when dealing with sexuality by persons with disabilities, who live in residential facilities. A partial aim of the thesis was to discover the attitude of social workers to the issues with sexuality by persons with disabilities. The practical part of this bachelor's thesis was realized with qualitative research. The collection of the data was performed with semi-structured interviews. Social workers, who work in residential facilities with persons with disabilities, were selected intentionally for the research. The collected data were processed using coding and subsequently divided into categories and subcategories. It was discovered from the research that persons with disabilities experience their sexuality actively. One of the indicators of experiencing sexuality may be affection for others. Also touches, hugs, or passing kisses. Social workers and organisations, in which they work, have a favourable attitude towards the topic of sexuality of their clients. A free space is provided to the disabled. The organisation enables privacy to its clients when meeting their sexual needs. The clients may openly communicate about their sexuality. There are some methods made, which are based on the theoretical information and experience with expressing clients' sexuality according to which the residential facilities act. Within the promotion and development of themes of sexuality, the knowledge in this bachelor's thesis could help the providers of social services in the process of improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the area of sexuality.
Social work with citizens from Ukraine who have temporary protection status in the Czech Republic
NOVÁKOVÁ, Marie
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of social work with Ukrainian citizens who came to the Czech Republic after the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The thesis contains a theoretical and practical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part is devoted to the relations between Russia and Ukraine - it describes the situation after the independence of Ukraine and before the outbreak of the war in 2022. In the following chapters, the status of temporary protection, the characteristics of its users and the description of social work with refugees as a target group are presented. In this section, the needs of the target group, the principles of social work with refugee clients, the objectives of cooperation are introduced, and then the role of the social worker is defined, which should also be introduced to new clients with whom the worker establishes a relationship. The theoretical part is concluded with a chapter dealing directly with the social services that the target group can use with their status. The practical part of the thesis is devoted to research conducted with twelve Ukrainian refugees, which was carried out in cooperation with several institutions and services in České Budějovice. At the very beginning of the research, the issue of anonymity of the respondents proved to be crucial. Respondents often expressed concern that the answers would not be passed on to social service providers, for example, or could not be linked to the information they gave me - especially those expressing dissatisfaction or suggestions for improvement. Due to the specific nature of the research population, the specific names of organisations and service providers are not given in the thesis and a planned interview process was used with each respondent, particularly in terms of how responses were recorded. In particular, the research focused on whether and, if necessary, what social services this group of clients uses, whether they have sufficient awareness of their options in this area, what changes they would appreciate and what obstacles they most often encounter when cooperating with social services and during their everyday life.

The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the current state of the issue, the social worker, the victim of crime, and on management and case management. The empirical part includes a qualitative research strategy, where IPA analysis was conducted. A semi-structured interview technique with seventeen questions was used to gather data. Twenty-eight informants were approached in the South Bohemian region, forming a research sample of six informants. Through the analysis and interpretation of the obtained data, it was found out what roles social workers perceive as case managers, what motivates them, and what limitations they face in their work. The analysis of conducted interviews suggests that social workers are aware of the various roles in their work, but there is consensus that they adapt to the individual needs of the client. The results of this thesis can be used for the needs of social workers, social work students. The anticipated benefit for practice is awareness of the role of a social worker as a case manager and for supervision with these workers.
