Robert Darnton's contribution to the use of electronic communication tools in university education

This bachelor's thesis deals with the personalities of the American historian Robert Darnton and his contribution to the use of electronic communication tools in university education. The goal of the thesis is to map the professional career and explain the basic principles of the work of the leading American historian, and at the same time to test methodologically beneficial biographical methods for researching the history of book culture. The theoretical part is based on secondary literature and available electronic sources. Definitions related to electronic communication as well as topics that Robert Darnton deals with in his work are presented here. Next, the personality of Robert Darnton himself is introduced. The practical part is created by using qualitative research methods in the form of interviews with two representatives from academic publishing houses in the Czech Republic. The conclusion of the bachelor's thesis forms a summary of the acquired knowledge and provides an answer to the research question.
