Time synchronization by IEEE1588 protocol
Hříbek, Šimon ; Arm, Jakub (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
The thesis focuses on implementing time synchronization using the PTP protocol on the STM32H747 platform to assign precise timestamps to acquired samples using the ADC converter. The chosen platform is specifically the STM32H747 Discovery Kit development board. The thesis includes a description of available libraries necessary for implementing time synchronization. One area also covers the procedure for setting up the Ethernet interface available on the development kit. The thesis also addresses the selection of suitable methods for evaluating the achieved results.
Measurement module with PTP synchronization
Brabenec, Josef ; Burian, František (referee) ; Havránek, Zdeněk (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the time synchronization of precise measuring systems. The thesis examines various protocols for time synchronization and mainly focuses on the use of Precision Time Protocol (PTP). The thesis describes the key features and implementation possibilities of this protocol, and at the same time it deals with devices that are compatible with PTP. The firmware design for using the PTP protocol on the Cora Z7 development board is analyzed in detail. The PTPd library is used to implement the PTP protocol. Additionally, other necessary libraries were created for working with Ethernet frames, collecting time stamps, setting, adjusting and reading clocks. The thesis also includes experimental measurements aimed at verifying the practical functionality of the proposed solution.
Wireless Communication in Fire Sport
Pelka, Tomáš ; Mrázek, Vojtěch (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This work describes the design of wireless timer for fire sport disciplines. Its aim is to replace long wires with wireless communication while preserving equal or better reliability. Important part is the need for clock synchronization between wireless modules. Related topic is selection of suitable synchronization algorithm and communication protocol. The proposed system was realized in form of prototype using Texas Instruments's development platform LaunchPad EXP 430 FR4133 and wireless modules with Texas Instruments's chip CC1101. Parameters of designed system (especially the accuracy of time synchronization and measurement) were verified in laboratory.
