Arbitration According Rules of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris (ICC)

Arbitration as an out-of-court form of business dispute resolution is becoming increasingly popular. One of the most important institutionalized arbitration on international level, is arbitration according the Rules of the International Chamber of Commerce located in Paris. One reason for choosing this type of arbitration is in particular the international importance and the authority that the International Chamber of Commerce and its affiliated institutions, in particular the ICC Court, have in the international trade area. I consider this type of arbitration to be one of the most appropriate forms of proceeding in international business disputes, what also confirms the history of its development, the benefits it provides by its principles and the authority that the arbitrators obtain. The process of adaptability of the proceeding and the highly skilled arbitrators provide a great ground for the smooth running of the whole process. The basic principles of this type of arbitration are the autonomy of the parties will, the principle of equality of parties, non-publicity, discretion, speed and economy. Export promotion from the perspective of the selected company

The main objective was to investigate the possibility of export promotion for Czech companies, namely Kovohutě Příbram nástupnická, a. s., Products Division. To evaluate the use of the possibilities of export promotion from the perspective of the selected company and propose measures to improve the opportunities.As a secondary objective was determined using the potential to promote exports in selected sectors and appreciation of the use of export promotion. The final output of this work was a recommendation for the company in promoting exports. Because the company does not have a good opinion on a range of support services exports, this recommendation has been prepared only for those services with which the company has a positive experience.

International sales contract - instruments of regulation

The essay focuses on the issue of the international regulation of international sales contracts. It analyses the United Nations Convention for the International Sale of Goods and documents published by the International Chamber of Commerce and by other organisations active in harmonisation and unification of instruments of regulation of international sales contracts. So, the goal of the essay is to decide whether the documents help to remove the barriers of the international trade and whether the documents do not overlap the Convention.

Comparison of Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees

The thesis focuses on comparison of the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees issued by the International Chamber of Commerce. The theoretical part characterizes the bank guarantee, states its classifications and options of insurance. The practical part includes a comparison of the Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees of 1992 (URDG 458) with their revised version of 1st July 2010 (URDG 758), summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of the new version for all involved parties and suggests possible improvements.

Letter of credit in international business

This thesis deals with the letter of credit and its position during recent economic crisis. In the first chapter the term "letter of credit" is explained and the main aspects of the letter of credit, its availability, the letter of credit process and the relationships among parties of this process are described. In the second chapter, the core of this work, the influence of the recent financial and economic crisis on the use of letters of credit is analyzed, as well as the attitude of banks towards letters of credit in the time of crisis.

Documentary credit in international trade

The thesis deals with a payment condition called documentary credit and its progress in reaction to development of information technology. The aim of this thesis is to explore and evaluate the possiblities of solutions to electronic presentation by documentary credits. After an initial description of documentary credit and the principles of its process follows the analysis of the rules for documentary credits published by International Chamber of Commerce. The second part of the thesis focuses on particular systems of electronic document presentation. The main aim of the thesis is to introduce potential alternatives to traditional paper based documentary credit.

Bank Guarantees in International Trade

The bachelor thesis analyzes a wide range of possible employment of bank guarantees used in order to avoid risks in international trade. The first chapter generally characterises bank guarantees and principles of their functioning. Then it presents the internationally recognized rules that effectively regulate any kind of bank guarantee. Furthermore, it is concerned with the main interests of contracting parties. In the second chapter, various types of bank guarantees are distinguished. The fundamental division recognizes independent and accessory guarantees, direct and indirect gurantees, payment and finally non-payment guarantees that receive the most attention. The last chapter is practically aimed at the governmental support of Czech export and introduces preferential conditions for issue of bank guarantees by Czech Export Bank and related insurance offered by Export and Guarantee Insurance Corporation.
