Skeleton Extraction from Polygonal Meshes
Borek, Ondřej ; Kršek, Přemysl (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with skeleton extraction from 3D objects. The presented technique for skeleton extraction from incomplete points cloud is based on ROSA (Rotational Symmetry Axis) method, while the searching for rotational symmetry axis was optimized. The method is resistant to missing data and is suitable for objects made from cylindrical parts and joints of that parts (for example human and animals bodies). In experiments, both the influence of object properties (for example missing data, chill mark, shape) and the influence of method's parameters were examined.
Feasibility Study of an Interactive Medical Diagnostic Wikipedia
Grim, Jiří
Considering different application possibilities of product distribution mixtures we have proposed three formal tools in the last years, which can be used to accumulate decision-making know-how from particular diagnostic cases. First, we have developed a structural mixture model to estimate multidimensional probability distributions from incomplete and possibly weighted data vectors. Second, we have shown that the estimated product mixture can be used as a knowledge base for the Probabilistic Expert System (PES) to infer conclusions from definite or even uncertain input information. Finally we have shown that, by using product mixtures, we can exactly optimize sequential decision-making by means of the Shannon formula of conditional informativity. We combine the above statistical tools in the framework of an interactive open-access medical diagnostic system with automatic accumulation of decision-making knowledge.

State estimation with missing data and bounded uncertainty
Pavelková, Lenka
The paper deals with two problems in the state estimation: (i) bounded uncertainty and (ii) missing measurement data. An algorithm for the state estimation of the discrete-time state space model whose uncertainties are bounded is proposed here. The algorithm also copes with situations when some data for identification are missing. The Bayesian approach is used and maximum a posteriori probability estimates are evaluated in the discrete time instants. The proposed estimation algorithm is applied to the estimation of vehicle position when incomplete data from global positioning system together with complete data from the inertial measurement unit are at disposal.
