The Monte Carlo Stochastic Method for Price Simulation
MÜLLEROVÁ, Sindy
This bachelor thesis focuses on predicting gold prices using the Monte Carlo model and utilizes data obtained from Yahoo Finance. The data used for the simulation covers the period from 2000 to 2023. Based on this data, values for the next 3 years are simulated. The prediction model provides optimistic, neutral, and pessimistic scenarios of future price development, represented by the upper quartile, median, and lower quartile. The findings show that in the optimistic scenario (upper quartile), gold prices continue to rise, indicating a consistently strong market trend. In contrast, the pessimistic scenario (lower quartile) indicates only a slight decline in prices, suggesting price stability. The neutral scenario (median) shows a slightly rising trend, ensuring that the value of the initial investment is preserved. The analysis carried out in this paper assesses the profitability of gold investment mainly due to the positive and stable price trend and offers valuable insights for investment decision-making.
The Role of the Gold in the Central Banking
Kluzová, Denisa ; Bažantová, Ilona (advisor) ; Dupáková, Lenka (referee)
Role of gold in central banking Abstract The first chapter is devoted to the characteristics of central banks as institutions that have a monopoly on the issue of cash money, conduct monetary policy and regulate the banking system. The first central banks emerged in the 17th century. However, they differed from the contemporary central banks. Their primary task was to provide financial resources to the sovereign. They gradually gained more power over time and became the central banks that exist today. Contemporary central banks usually have powers such as issuing cash money, conducting monetary policy, regulation and supervision of the banking sector. Central banks compile their balance sheets, which are statements of the amount and structure of assets and liabilities. Gold is among the items that appear on central bank balance sheets. The second chapter is important for understanding how the gold standard function. It explains concepts such as the pure standard and the modified gold standard, which covers the gold bullion standard, the gold reserve standard and the gold exchange standard. The third chapter describes the evolution of the gold standard since the 1930s when monetary blocks, consisting of states with similiar views on the continuation of the gold standard, were formed. These included the gold...
Fundamental Share Analysis of Selected Gold Mining Companies
Vrľáková, Dominika ; Čáslavová, Iva (referee) ; Rejnuš, Oldřich (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with fundamental share analyss in order to propose a variant of investing in shares of selected gold mining companies. The subject is macroeconomic analysis of the environment in which selected gold mining companies operate, gold industry analysis and company analysis comprising evaluation of the development of corporate indicators and their issued shares. On the basis of these analyzes ind inter-company comparison, the most profitable options will be proposed to the management of the hedge fund.
Template assisted electrodeposition of multilayer nanostructures
Teoretická část pojednává o základech elektrochémie a porézní anodické aluminy.
Experimental analysis focused on the effect of chloride salt on neutron flux with different energy levels
Slančík, Tomáš ; Števanka, Kamil (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
Master’s thesis focuses on the history and current progress in research of molten salt reactors around the world, with an emphasis placed on the properties of molten salts and the problems associated with their use. In relation to the practical part, one chapter is devoted to the creation of input file in the MCNP software. The practical part deals with neutron activation analysis of graphite prism experiment, which is filled with powder NaCl salt. This experiment is focused on the effect of salt on neutron flux with different energy levels. The whole problem was also simulated in the MCNP environment along with the experiment. At the end of the thesis, the individual methods are compared and evaluated.
Proposal for the Creation of an Investment Portfolio of a Fund of Qualified Investors
Kazda, Tomáš ; Brauner, Roman (referee) ; Rejnuš, Oldřich (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the elaboration of a proposal for an investment portfolio of a fund of qualified investors focused on gold mining companies. For this purpose, a model fund is created and it is made a selection of companies according to its statute. After that the companies are analyzed, verified and finally compared to determine the final ratio of individual companies in the fund. At the end of the work, a proposal for the management of the fund with the recommended composition of its portfolio is compiled.
Surface Plasmon Resonances on Colloidal Nanoparticles
Beránek, Jiří ; Brzobohatý,, Oto (referee) ; Šikola, Tomáš (advisor)
The presented diploma thesis is focused on the Localized Surface Plasmons (LSP). The far-field optical response of the colloidal solutions of gold nanoparticles caused by LSP was investigated and compared with the numerical calculations. For the simulations, the Discrete Dipole Approximation (DDA) and Finite-Difference Time Domain (FDTD) techniques were employed. In particular, the shape and size effects of spherical particles and nanorods were studied. The simulations performed by both methods are in a good agreement for the spheres. For the nanorods, the resonance was found to be affected markedly by their geometry. Also, broader resonance peaks were found. This effect was assigned to the sample size distribution and its influence is discussed by comparing the simulations with experiments. In addition, synthesis of nanorods was carried out as well. Finally, the results on the study of optical properties of silver clusters formed under equilibrium conditions are presented.
The Use of Artificial Intelligence on Financial Markets
Hortai, František ; Budík, Jan (referee) ; Dostál, Petr (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a model for trading on financial markets by using artificial intelligence. The work describes some methods of artificial intelligence, description of financial market and stock market trading. The result of this work is a model of an expert system which uses fuzzy logic for investing and a functional model for predicting the course of shares trends using artificial neural networks. Both models algorithms were designed and tested in MATLAB.
Application of high resolution transmission electron microscopy for structure analysis of nanowires
Kachtík, Lukáš ; Sháněl, Ondřej (referee) ; Kolíbal, Miroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the structural analysis of semiconductor nanowires by transmission electron microscopy. The construction of microscope is introduced together with its basic imaging modes and with the function of each construction element in these modes. In the experimental part the results of analysis of several germnaium nanowires are discussed, with emphasis on their crystallographic structure and orientation.
